Grandma's Green Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2003
In place of the 1/4 cup onion, I used the Durkee fried onions, and reduced the sour cream by 1/4 cup. I also placed the leftover onions on top of the casserole along with the crackers. Everyone thought it was great for Thanksgiving.

Garlic-Lemon Double Stuffed Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2004
Although this recipe was good, it was very heavy. i could only eat 1/2 of the smallest breast of chicken before i had to clear it away. My boyfriend liked it, but thought it was too rich as well and could only be made once in a great while. If i make it again, i will not give it the breaded topping, use a white cheese, and serve it with a tomato sauce.

Shrimp Chowder

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2004
The boyfriend and I loved it, but made a few changes to accomodate what we had on hand: (also doubled servings by time we were through) 1 can (+ 1 can h20) cream of chicken soup, used veggie and regular cream cheese, added carrots and corn, clove of garlic, chili spice, Sriracha Chili Paste, and added 8 oz. crayfish tail meat. I loved this recipe(even though we doctored it a bit)! Will def. make again!

Best Ever Pie Crust

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2004
Great crust, rolls neatly. I have found after wrapping it in clear wrap you can freeze it for 20 min and then use it immediately. Thanks for the recipe.

Raspberry Trifle

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2004
Very pretty! I did brush the cake with Grand Marnier as others have. I will probably experiment with other booze-Godiva Liqour maybe? Baileys? Anyway this was great for the holidays, and I found using frozen berries was just as good (and cheaper) than fresh.

Bacon Roll Ups II

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2004
I do not eat pork, so i made these with turkey bacon. i would imagine the extra grease in regular bacon would make these better. i read the other reviews, and decided to add 1/8 tsp. prepared minced garlic and a sprinkle of onion salt on each cream cheese section before rolling in bacon. the boyfriend loved it. thanks for the recipe.

Bacon Wrapped Water Chestnuts II

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2004
i love rumaki, but when i made this i had to use items on hand-i substituted turkey bacon and bbq sauce for the ketchup. YUCK! so, i would advise others to stick to the recipe.

Pistachio Cream Cheese Fingers

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2004
Wow everyone loved these. they were moist, and very easy to make once we figured out to put the dough in a ziploc bag for uniform size. the drizzled chocolate really made them look festive.

not a fan--i love garlic but that garlic cheese dip did not do it for me. if i make this again, i will make my own spread for it based on cream cheese. good idea though, thanks.

Yum-Yum Corn

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2005
I followed this recipe exactly, and was personally not impressed---tasted like corn laying in a block of cream cheese to me, BUT all of my relatives loved it and raved over it, so i guess i am just an oddball.

Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2009
Great recipe. I followed others suggestions and used half the oil and added applesauce. I also substituted sour cream for the yogurt. I did not have chocolate chips, so I chopped 4 oz. of bittersweet chocolate with another 2 oz. of white chocolate. I also added some minced dried cherries and chopped pecans. Delicious!

Orange Herb Roasted Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2009
I have baked whole chickens before, but this was the best I have ever made. Differences: It took a little over 2 hours to bake, added marjoram, minced all herbs and placed under skin and in cavity. Really great! I usually stuff birds with a heavy combo of bread, egg, dried cherries, and turkey sausage but this was very light and made the chicken very moist. I will do this again, thank you.

Tastira (Tunisian Fried Peppers and Eggs)

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2009
This was very simple and filling. I had thought to alter the recipe and add fried diced potatoes but used the submitters suggestion of serving with a crusty bread instead. Very good, but I think I would like to try it with potatoes as well. Thanks!
