About this Cook
I love this site!
My favorite things to cook
I just love trying new things, thank you everyone for all the great recipies posted here. I recommend this site all the time!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My grandfathers home made turtle stew... Only edible if you dont see him clean the turtle. Great memories of using turtle shells as snowman hats.
My cooking triumphs
No longer using animal remains for holiday-seasonal decorations.
My cooking tragedies
*Anything that ends in "helper" or "aroni" is a cooking tragedy. (I avoid that as much as possible though--never use the "helper" varieties of faster food.) * Once accidently grabbed pepper instead of cinnamon for cookies. UGH!

Hot and Sour Cabbage Soup
One of our friends gave us some cabbages, and after making stuffed cabbage, I tried this recipe out. I do not eat pork so I used ground turkey. I followed the rest of the ingredients precisely but in proportions to suit my own taste. It turned out fantastic, both my husband and stepson enjoyed it as well.
