Neiman Marcus Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: May 30, 2014
When it comes down to it, it doesn't matter if this is the REAL recipe or not. This is an amazing cookie! Especially if you bake them @ the 300 degrees for 18-20 minutes. Come out just perfect. I also use a dash of cream of tartar with any cookie I bake. It makes the dough form a 'shell' around itself as it bakes and makes the 'perfect from the bakery' texture everyone strives so hard to get. Little trick I learned through the years (and the grapevine of many a baker hehe)

Parmesan Crusted Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2013
We make this dish many times since first discovering it. What is so nice about it is the versatility it can have. I recommend what j03sugar says about butterflying and dipping the breasts, most def. is worth the extra 2 min it takes. After parties we often will have veggie dips (i.e. Beau Monte dip, spinach, etc.) left over and we will use these in place of straight up mayo to help clear out the fridge and give the cook a break from being in the kitchen so long the night(s) before. Excellent classic. Recommend to anyone. (psst great one for kids to make up!)

Shrimp Tempura

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2013
This is an excellent tempura recipe! Like any batter recipes you have to adjust to each use (humidity etc. each day can vary how a batter turns out) This recipe is VERY close to what anyone needs to work from (often find needing to add just a touch more ice water) DO NOT OVER MIX.(using chopsticks are wonderful for preventing over-mixing) Crisp, Light, Easy. Thank you Sherry!

Chicken Satay

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2008
VERY GOOD base to work from. Soaked the chicken in lime/soy/garlic mixture then made the sauce (items from original recipe plus a T of fish sauce and sub'd green curry paste for the curry) seperate for dipping when finished. Soaked the skewers in soy sauce/warm water combo to add just a touch more flavor. Served w/ rice and veggie stir-fry to complete meal. I know some people can't stand when someone comes in a totally alters the recipe but hey I am known to be an alterer ;o) Thank you for the recipe. :o)

West Coast Cod and Shrimp

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2008
nice, very nice! we added a can of cream of mushroom and 2t of red pepper flakes (also salt & peppered the fish before topping with sauce). Not much changed but tasted wonderful and we didnt find it to be watery at all and full of flavor (we, of course, like dill ;oD ) thank you for the recipe!

Broccoli Salad II

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2007
We have always enjoyed broccoli salads and this is a wonderful base to work from. We always add about 1/2 a large onion (usually red or purple but any work) to the last 5 min of cooking time for the bacon. Adds just that extra balance with flavors. Thank you for the recipe. :o)

The Best Thai Peanut Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2007
quick, simple and VERY good.... I like to warm it up some in the microwave after all is assembled to bring out more of the flavor...I also instead of using just hot sauce put in 1 Tablespoon of red thai curry paste (it is what we keep on hand all the time) think it adds more flavor and authenticity too.

Coconut Shrimp I

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2007
was fantastic! just like one gets in the restaraunts. yes, takes some time but well worth it. I made these up and added them to a coconut red Thai curry dish with vegetable stir-fry and sticky rice. Use the sauce to dip 'em or drizzled it over. Wonderful sweet spicy flavour! Highly recommend trying. ;o)
