Salt and Vinegar Chicken

My family has been making this recipe for 20 years. The only thing different is that we add black pepper to the marinade. We've always cooked it on the grill directly, and baste it periodically. Turns out great. Even the kids love it.

The vinegar was way too overpowering in this recipe. I will try again, but cut the vinegar back to 1 tablespoon next time.

This is a great recipe. I took advice from others and served it over rice. Also, it is a very good idea to saute the onion a little before layering, otherwise it will be crunchy. I was out of parsley when I made this, so added a bit of thyme and basil and it really was wonderful. Love this recipe to use up fresh veggies from the garden!
