Whoopie Pies IV

This recipe is very close to the one handed down from my mother in law, who has now deceased. The only change is instead of granulated sugar in the icing, you should use powdered sugar so it doesn't come out grainy. This recipe has to be followed to the letter. Other reviewers that had lumps or problems probably didn't follow the amounts correctly. It is hard to add that much shortening to it... but you have to in order to make GOBS!

Party Italian Wedding Soup

I like the meatballs like this in this soup, keep them small as you can. less than one inch. However, i would use fresh spinach and add it just before serving so that is wilted only and remains bright. I also like homemade noodles in it. .. they are the best if you have time.

Yummy Artichoke Dip

Good, I didn't use any mayonaise, and added some little red marinated pepper, that you get from the service deli, and it was good and not as fattening.

Baked Brie in Puff Pastry

Good recipe: a variation that I Made was use raspberry jam, dried cranberries, and walnuts. Cut off sides of rind. Wrap with homemade pie dough (set in center of dough round and gather at top to stop leakage, chill for at least one hour, bake for 15-20 minutes at 400 bake in a fluted tart dish then you can serve it in that... let rest 5 minutes before serving with crackers and fresh fruit slices.

Tiramisu Layer Cake

I made this for a large birthday crowd as a second cake, for the adults, and it was a huge hit. I doubled the recipe and made a double layer 13 x9 cake. It is very light and at the same time rich without being too sweet. Everyone loved it. I had to take it in a car, so if you travel far with it put it in a cooler with a cool pack.
