About this Cook
I'm a single, retired woman that loves to cook soups and stews...healthy menus. I will make a big crock of soup and freeze it individually and have fresh soup available whenever. I also can pickles, relishes, jellies and jams.
My favorite things to cook
Pea soup, spaghetti sauce, pumpkin soup, chicken noodle soup, mushroom soup, vegetable beef soup. Pot roast...grilling salmon and ribs.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Corn beef and cabbage on St Patricks Day. Pot Roast dinners, spaghetti, Mac*cheese, chicken and biscuits and or dumplings. Pork roast, Roast Beef.
My cooking triumphs
Canning. It was trial and error but the end products now are incredibly delishious
My cooking tragedies
I tried to make a apple snack cake with egg replacer and it was not good. Also I had a disaster making enchiladas.

Homemade Black Bean Veggie Burgers
I've got to admit...these are allot better than frozen ones. I fried them up and they crisped up fine. I made them last night and put them in the fridge overnight before cooking them. I froze the uncooked ones for later. I gave it 4 stars because this is very filling. I celebrate Meatless Monday for almost 1 1/2 years. This is a good change of pace. I think I will try some other adders to it..maybe something like green peppers and corn.

Simple Whole Wheat Bread
This bread is delicious. I made a mistake on gambling on yeast packets that were 2 months to expiration...so I didn't get the rise that I wanted. I followed some suggestions and added 2 tbs of gluten and 1/2 cub of 7 grain hot cereal with flax from Bob's Red Mill. The only problem is that it didn't rise enough. I missed up on some of the waiting instructions too. Even messing up on all of this I got a smaller loaf..soft...nice color...absolutely yummy. I will do it again and try to not mess up. Thanks everyone for the ideas. The video is nice too.

Favorite Old Fashioned Gingerbread
This is delicious. The 9" pan was too small.....I would use a 9x13". The cake mushroomed over the pan....other than that wonderful balanced gingerbread.
