About this Cook
I'm recently married and a law student. I love cooking and it is my favorite thing to do!
My favorite things to cook
I love challenges like desserts or cooking for parties.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I am Italian so I am pretty well-schooled in Italian cooking. My grandfather was a pizza chef who threw the pizzas up in a restaurant window.
My cooking triumphs
I think the apple pies and desserts I've made have always been a success. My tiramisu is a real favorite of mine and everyone else!
My cooking tragedies
I cannot make a pie shell to save my life. I always have to buy pre-made!

Peach Angel Food Cake
What is great about this recipe is how easy it is. However, I made quite a few changes. I used 20 oz. crushed pineapples in juice instead of peaches. I used a mixer to really get the fruit mixed with my Betty Crocker mix, and added 1 tablespoon of peach schnapps. I bet it might taste good with Malibu rum instead of schnapps. I baked it in two 9 in. loaf pans. While it was baking (make sure you bake it thoroughly), I took another reviewer's advice and made sort of a sauce, turns out you really need this sauce to make the recipe great. I mixed about 3 tablespoons more of crushed pineapple, with a tub of fat free and thawed cool whip, a package of powdered vanilla pudding and about a cup of fat free milk. It's not a fluffy sauce, it is more smooth and pudding like, but it tastes great and serve on the side.

Mujaddara Arabic Lentil Rice
This is okay. I cooked the lentils in chicken broth for flavor, and added cumin as other reviewers have done. The flavor just wasn't strong enough for me,

White Bean Tabbouleh
Really nice tabbouleh recipe. I reduced the bulgur by a 1/3, added extra parsley about 1/3 cup more, and another lemon.
