French Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2013
Turned out great. Only ended up needing 4 of the 6 cups of flour. I added 1 tsp more salt and 1 tbsp of unsalted butter, per other review suggestions. My new favorite! Loved it!

Peach Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2012
Turned out awesome. Tastes like mini cobblers without the mess! I accidentally mixed all the dry ingredients instead of making an oil mixture with the sugar. Still turned out great. Will definitely make these again!

Real Italian Calzones

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2012
AWESOME. The dough was so easy to work with and came out crispy on the bottom. (I used olive oil to grease the bottom of my baking sheet). I changed the stuffing, I put Kraft Italian 5 cheese blend, pizza sauce, garlic and basil. Will be making them again, for sure!

Easy Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2012
Delicious and so easy! I scaled down to 12 cookies and used a whole egg (instead of the scaled down 1/4 egg). Made 12 cookies, spooning with a tablespoon rather than a teaspoon. I started and ended in less than 20 minutes!

Pizza Dough III

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2012
I like this recipe! It's so easy and turns out great, even with regular flour. The first time I made it I floured the bottom of the baking sheet... Too floury. This time I used corn meal at the bottom. Turned out great! Recommend having a little bowl of flour near by to help with the stickiness, but not to take away too much of the moisture. Yum!! Our new, cost efficient pizza alternative! Oh and in lieu of rolling I just put the ball on the pan and stretch/press it out with my hands. It's too wet to roll. Doesn't always turn out round, but works better than having to deal with a sticky mess:)

Baked Fresh Cherry Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2010
Turned out great. I love sweet cherry pie! I made the mistake of not getting the quick-cooking tapioca, and being unfamiliar with tapoica's properties I didn't soak it overnight. So I had little tapioca balls in my filling. I don't know if they had any part in the thickness of the filling, since they did not dissolve, but if they didn't, the filling was pretty thick without them. VERY YUMMY... Everyone who had some, loved it!

Mini Cheesecakes I

Reviewed: May 27, 2010
These turned out excellent. I halved the recipe to make 12 cupcake sized cheesecakes, and because the canned cherries were a little pricey and strawberries were in season, I put sugared strawberries on top. A new favorite.

Carrot Cake III

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2010
Everyone loved this. I halved the recipe, since we were a small crowed... and I hate carrot cake. Everyone enjoyed it, especially the frosting... which I used the ratio as written. I used walnuts instead of pecans, because it was what I had on hand. Great recipe!

Lemon Square Bars

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2010
I unfortunately took the advice of some of the other posters here, and baked the crust @ 315 degrees for 18 minutes. This created a more mushyesque crust... It's really important to make these ahead of time, even the day before, before you cut them. They stay together and look much better when they cool completely. The recipe MEANS cool completely. I was in a rush, and didn't wait long enough, I ended up with a mess. But a delicious mess... :)

Creamy Au Gratin Potatoes

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2010
Awesome! The only changes I made were adding half a cup of mozzarella cheese to the sauce mixture, a little garlic salt over the potatoes and I used chopped yellow onion, sautéed before adding to the dish. Also, I used a 9x13 pan to make more, smaller, servings... it fared well at a pot luck with 10 or so people, everyone got to try it without having to add a notch to their belt buckle. Next time I am going to make it with low-fat/non-fat ingredients. Nom!

Oven Roasted Potatoes

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2010
These came out great. I didn't have any dill, so I added more basil. Also I halved the amount of olive oil to reduce the fat content. Delicious.

Spanish Rice II

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2005
Very tasty! I added black beans and omitted the chile powder (i didn't have any). I used canned tomatoes that had garlic, basil and oregeno in them already. Tasted even better on day two! Next time I will use a little less water though. YUM YUM!

Broccoli Casserole

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2005
MMMM This was so tasty!! I used real cheddar cheese instead of the processed kind and it came out great. I also used fresh broccoli, i steamed it in my veggie steamer for about 4 minutes until it started turning bright green. And instead of instant rice I steamed some white long grain rice. Next time I will add some more onions. My husband despises casseroles, and he loved it too!! YUMMY!!
