Tilapia with Tomatoes, Black Olives and Corn

Reviewed: May 6, 2013
This recipe wasn't the most flavorful even though i seasoned the tilapia four hours ahead of time with black pepperand adobo. I loved it though! I will make this again and again.

Baked Scallops

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2013
I've made this two times now for my boyfriend and I. We both never had scallops before and this paired with fettucine is delicious! Thanks for the recipe!

Kahala's Shrimp and Broccoli Toss

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2013
This was really good! I was looking for a shrimp and broccoli dish for a little while and I found the one! The only things I did differently were I added a little cornstarch to the sauce to thicken it up and instead of mozzarella cheese, I used parmesan. I served this for Valentines day with fettucine, a caesar salad, garlic bread and a bottle of chardonnay. Easy too prepare but it looked so elegant. Thanks!

Easy Stroganoff

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2013
I made this last night for my boyfriend and I and it was so bland, it was ridiculous. I substituted the beef for ground turkey and seasoned it while it was cooking with more Worcestershire sauce than the recipe called for, chopped onions, seasoned salt, black pepper, minced garlic and garlic powder. After I drained the noodles, I tossed with a little butter and then used only one can of mushroom soup, 1/2 cup milk, omitted the mushrooms because I don't like them and used about 3/4 cup sour cream and threw in some cooked mixed vegetables. When it was done, I tasted it and immediately added more black pepper, garlic powder and a healthy coating of adobo. Only then did it taste like something I would serve. When my boyfriend tasted it, he threw in more adobo, black pepper and garlic powderbefore eating a large portion. For me to have to add so much salt to something wh en I detest using salt is unacceptable. I won't this again

Honey Bun Cake I

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2013
I made this for my first dinner party and served it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Although i had only four guests it was gone in less than fifteen minutes! I guess it was good but I was so busy entertaining that I never got to taste any. I will definitely make again but this time, just for my household lol.

Chicken In Basil Cream

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2013
I made this tonight for a stay in Valentine's dinner and it was great. I did make a few substitutions. I find that a lot if recipes on this site don't season the chicken beforehand and then the chicken is bland. I seasoned liberally with adobo and left for an hour and then cooked. I followed the recipe almost to the letter; I just added used seasoned bread crumbs for more flavor, more chicken broth than called for and i added two minced garlic cloves to the sauce. It was so good. Better than a restaurant with my changes. I strongly suggest seasoning the meat beforehand though. That's the only thing I dint like about American food: not enough seasoning!

Salsa Chicken Burrito Filling

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2013
This was really good! I did make a few changes. I cut up chicken thighs and legs and since i didn't have any salsa, i used an eight oz can of tomato sauceand set it to boil. When it boiled, i added 1/4 cup of sofrito, 1/2 of the taco packet, 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper, 1/2 teaspoon of chili powder and the two minced garlic cloves. The cumin seemed like too much so i left it out. I covered the pot and simmered for 10 mins. I added half a can of drained black beans and covered for another five mins. I preheated the oven to 350 degrees and laid a burrito on the chopping board and filled it with chopped lettuce, diced tomato, cheddar and Mexican cheese and then the chicken mixture. I wrapped.ip up, sprinkled a little cheese on the tops and baked it for ten mins. I served it with a little sour cream and it was so delicious! My boyfriend said it was better than taco bell!
