About this Cook
I love to bake and cook! I'm a freelance travel writer, and I enjoy trying new delightful food in every city I travel to. Sometimes, the food is so phenomenal that I try to recreate it...often in a much more healthy way.
My favorite things to cook
Turkey burgers, tempura vegetables, turkey tacos, cupcakes, corn chowder, cookies, etc.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Homemade pizza, my mom's famous spaghetti sauce, calzones, and more.
My cooking triumphs
Calzones, corn chowder, my own turkey burger recipe, a great "grandma-approved" pie crust, made-up curry
My cooking tragedies
I'm trying to think of something! I remember baking a LOT of flat cookies in my early teens!

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread
I haven't made pumpkin bread from scratch before, and it turned out perfectly! I ended up making 4 mini-loaves and 10 muffins b/c I didn't have regular loaf pans. I had seen another recipe about adding butterscotch chips to pumpkin muffins, so I tried it with half of the recipe. They added a nice sweetness to a perfectly moist treat. Thanks for the recipe, I'll be taking it to my parents' house for dinner on Thanksgiving.
