I am a 24 year old recent college grad and veterinary technician manager. I have been cooking since I was 8 and started selling decorated cakes when I was 12. If there is a recipe, I can follow it. If not, I can make up my own. I was completely self-taught until I took a Michael's cake decorating class about 2 1/2 years ago, but I knew most of the things I learned already.
My favorite things to cook
I LOOOOVE to decorate cutout cookies. I try to come up with an excuse all the time. I also love to make salads and marinate meats for maximum flavor. I accidentally found a way to make INCREDIBLE slow-cooked fajitas(or roast if that's what you want to call it, lol).
My favorite family cooking traditions
My dad is the main cook in my family. He is best known for his peach cobbler and barbequue. He also makes some delicious fried chicken thighs. I love my mom's meatloaf, sauteed bell pepper tilapia, and potatoes au gratin.
My cooking triumphs
I can make fudge without a candy thermometer and I also dabble in cake decorating.
My cooking tragedies
I wouldn't call anything a tragedy because the best way to learn about cooking is through trial and error. I am still trying to master grilling and frying, though. Hey, you live and you learn.
