Ethiopian Chicken

These wings were absolutely SUPER! I followed the recipe exactly, and they came out moist and delicious. A really nice change from your everyday hot wings, and the leftovers were even better the next day. Thanks for a perfect recipe!

Sourdough Tomato Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2004
This bread is SUPER!!! I've made it several times, and it always comes out great. I use V-8 juice, as suggested, and add 1/2 cup chopped sundried tomatoes, 3 or 4 minced cloves of garlic, and 1 1/2 tsp dried basil. YUM!! I have a friend who begs me for a loaf of this every week. Thanks for a GREAT recipe!

Sourdough Pancakes

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2004
Nice sourdough flavor and quick to mix up. The batter DID seem a little thin, so I added a scant 1/4 cup of flour. They turned out great! Will definitely make these again.

Christmas Breakfast Sausage Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2004
This was the perfect Christmas morning breakfast! So easy and absolutely yummy! I added two eggs and used only four slices of bread, but otherwise kept everything the same. It was great to have it all fixed the night before, and the next-day leftovers were super! Definitely a keeper and not just for Christmas.

Sarah's Banana Bread Muffins

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2003
These are yummy! I used Splenda instead of sugar. Also added 1 tsp baking powder to help them rise. I took someone else's advice and added 1/2 tsp cinnamon and 1/4 tsp nutmeg. Banana bread perfection! I'm going to try making actual loaves with this recipe - should be just as good!

Orange Muffins

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2003
These are absolutely the BEST! They're moist and have great flavor. I needed them for a holiday tray, so made them mini size. I used Splenda instead of sugar, added 1/4 tsp nutmeg, and finely chopped 1/3 cup dried cranberries and stirred them in. These were the first to go, and everyone wanted more. I'd give them ten stars if I could! A definite keeper!

Nora's Special Chocolate Chip Muffins

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2003
We liked these. I made them mini size for a holiday tray, so I used m&m baking bits instead of chocolate chips for some color and omitted the topping. I also added 1 teaspoon of vanilla. They made cute, moist little nibbles.

Delightful Apple Spice Muffins

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2003
These are wonderful - nice and moist and flavorful. I added a bit of salt and used Splenda instead of sugar and used them on a holiday tray. Rave reviews! I think I might use a little less butter the next time, though, and cut the fat just a little more.

Blueberry Cornmeal Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2003
These are yummy. We like the crunch of the cornmeal. They are a little hard to get out of the pan, though, so next time I'll increase the flour by just a little bit - maybe to 1 1/2 cups. Other than that, they are very good, and I'l probably make them often.

Pineapple Puffs

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2003
We loved these! I added 1 teaspoon vanilla extract and 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger to help boost the pineapple flavor, and they were great! we like muffins a little bigger, though, so I will probably fill the cups a little fuller and just not get as many. This recipe's a keeper!

Shrimp Scampi Bake

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2003
This was sooo good! I didn't have everything the recipe called for - I used lime juice instead of lemon, didn't have parsley so used 1 tsp dried cilantro and added 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes. Even my not-thrilled-with-shrimp husband liked this. Thanks!

Garlic Bubble Ring

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2003
We loved this in all its buttery, garlicky splendor, and so does everyone we've served it to! My hubby has dubbed it "Monkey Breath Bread," because it really does have a LOT of garlic. I made it with 2 loaves of frozen bread dough, and added 1/2 teaspoon each of basil, thyme, and oregano. It was GREAT!!

Apple Cheddar Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2003
Didn't care much for this recipe. I thought it was a little heavy and lacked something, but I'm not sure what. I liked the idea of the apples and cheese together, but I think I'll try adapting another recipe to make it rather than trying this one again.

Clam Chowder Canadian Military Style

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2003
This is GREAT clam chowder! I was out of thyme, so substitued a little basil. Also added 1/2 teaspoon each of dill weed and garlic powder. Yum!! I see no reason to ever buy canned clam chowder again - this is just as easy to make, and tastes much better!
