I made this fudge twice with unsalted butter and it came out good. The third time I only had salted butter and I could tell something was wrong before I added the milk. In the end it came out like Debmillken stated with butter rise to top, pebbles in mixing bowl. I don't know really what I did wrong, scorched the butter maybe?
