About this Cook
i love to cook, but being 18 and living at home with very picky parents, its not often that i get to. even so, im an addict. i have a folder full of recipes, a small pile of cook books, and i love to browse the interwebs for more ideas. i like making master pieces ( not that i make master pieces) from simple things, like gourmet macaroni and cheese, and simple but yummy sides. i hope to gather tons of great recipes here to use on my future guinea pigs... i mean children. ;)
My favorite things to cook
fettuccine Alfredo pasta, cookies, and spinach and artichoke dip. yum. hoping this list is gonna grow :)
My favorite family cooking traditions
thanksgiving. my sisters master mashed potatoes, always on the menu. even when she isn't there.
My cooking triumphs
made spinach and artichoke dip for the first time during Christmas. i actually had gotten the recipe off here. my first time making it, and it was a big hit. the only thing was, the recipe in my opinion called for to much miracle whip, so i substituted it with only have a cup of mayo instead. used this one at my nephews 1st birthday. people went back for 2nds and 3rds, and were even asking for the recipe!

Honey Lemon Tea
This tea is fabulous. I was looking for something to soothe my boyfriends sore throat and decided to try this. He loved it so much he asked for a second cup. I was intrigued so I decided to try some for myself. Sweet and tangy, the perfect mix! I will definitely be making this again. Thanks!

Bacon and Cheddar Stuffed Mushrooms
this is really a tasty treat. i made a smaller batch for myself just to try it. i did make a few changes. instead of browning the bacon right away, i went ahead and made the mixture of cheese and mushroom stems first. if you want your mushrooms to have a more interesting texture, make your bacon at the end, and make it crispy. also, dont diced up the bacon into really tiny pieces. make them a bit larger. then, mix up the hot bacon with the cheese and mushrooms and bake. the cheese melts a little faster from the hot bacon, and it gives it a great texture. just be quitting the bacon mixed up and in the oven. sizzle away!
