Freezer Caramel Drizzle Pie

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2010
Amazing pie! Tastes just like ice cream but doesn't melt into a pool on your plate. I used a chocolate crust and sprinkled mini chocolate chips on top of the caramel. Yum!

Jam Kolaches

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2009
Better than the bakery! I usually have all the ingredients in my kitchen, so these are perfect for last minute baking. If the jam is seeping out, you may be using too much. I always measure 1/4 t. precisely for each cookie.

White Peach Sangria

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2009
I've made this recipe several times. I use 1/2 peach schnapps and 1/2 vodka because we don't usually have peach vodka around. I don't like the way fruit separates (peaches float and grapes sink), so I've been using raspberries and peaches instead. Looks beautiful in a glass pitcher and a big hit at summer parties!

Chuck's Favorite Mac and Cheese

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2008
Great mac and cheese. However, I used a whole 16 oz box of elbow noodles and kept the rest of the recipe the same. 8 oz of noodles seemed wrong and wasn't enough to cover a 9x13 dish. I also used crunched up corn flakes instead of bread crumbs because we were out of bread. Mac and cheese was very good. So much better than the recipes made with "processed cheese food"!!

Slow Cooker Italian Beef for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2008
I used a beef bottom round roast because it was cheaper than rump roast. I added 3 cloves of minced fresh garlic to enhance the flavor. Ended up with great beef and wonderful juice. Good leftovers too! Can't wait to make this again!

Peach Cobbler Dump Cake I

Reviewed: May 10, 2008
This turned out perfectly for me! I didn't drain the peaches at all. I followed one reviewer's advice and applied the butter by using a fine cheese grater and a frozen stick of butter. I also sprinkled about 2 T. of sugar on top of the cobbler about 15 minutes before it came out of the oven. Thanks for this easy and delicious recipe! I will definitely make it again.

Sweet, Sticky and Spicy Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2008
This was better than most Chinese food recipes I've tried, but it still wasn't exactly what I was looking for. I replaced 1/2 the soy sauce with orange juice and added cornstarch to thicken the sauce. It was still a little salty for my taste. I think I'll try it again with a little more OJ and less soy sauce and see how it goes.

Yeast Pancakes

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2007
These turned out great for me. I used 1/2 the recipe and got 5 medium-sized pancakes. At first I thought I didn't care for the yeasty taste, but once I got some butter and syrup on these pancakes they were amazing! This is the recipe I will use from now on!

Vanilla - Chocolate Powdered Sugar Frosting

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2007
I didn't have any softened butter, so I substituted shortening for butter. I also added 1/2 cup cream cheese as suggested by another reviewer. The frosting turned out great. Better than store-bought frosting! I used it to frost cinnamon rolls (Made from recipe "Cinnamon Rolls I" on this site). Yum!

Orange Chicken Stir Fry

I left out the extra salt and this recipe was still too salty for me. Not the thick sweet/spicy orange chicken sauce I was hoping for.

Tarragon Chicken Salad II

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2007
I only tried this recipe because I felt bad that I never use the tarragon from my garden. What a lucky find for me! I love this chicken salad! I follow the recipe exactly as written and it always turns out great.

Kalua Pig in a Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2007
This recipe was a huge hit at my most recent dinner party. I had to stop cooking at about 12-14 hours because the roast was clearly done. I put the whole pot in the fridge to let the fat solidify so I could easily remove it. Then I just plugged the crock pot back in about 90 minutes before my guests arrived to warm the meat. I like to serve this on Hawaiian bread with BBQ sauce on the side. You don't need very much sauce because the meat has such great flavor on its own. I will surely make this easy recipe again and again!

Warm Crab Parmesan Dip

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2007
This smelled and tasted delicious, but was a little on the greasy side. I used imitation chunk crab meat because it was on sale. Maybe it would have turned out a little better if I had used the canned crab meat. This tasted good enough to warrant another try. I will probably cut the recipe in half next time because this was way too much for four people.

Cheesy Chicken Pot Pie

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2007
I served this at a dinner party and made each guest an individual mini pot pie in an oven-safe bowl. I just filled each bowl and criss-crossed strips of dough to make a top crust. I also added a little extra sharp cheddar cheese. Everyone loved it! I doubled the recipe to serve 6 people and thought I was making a ton of food, but there was barely enough to go around. I would recommend making more than you think you'll need if you serve it this way.

Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffins

I used a plastic bag with one corner cut off to pipe the cream cheese filling into the center of each muffin. These were quick and easy to make, but look very fancy and impressive. They are a favorite of my guests and coworkers!

Peanut Butter Popcorn

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2007
I dried my popcorn in the oven for a few minutes as suggested, so it wasn't sticky. However, I thought it tasted too much like caramel corn. My guests didn't think it was anything special either. I probably won't make this recipe again.
