Quinoa and Black Beans
I've made other quinoa dishes before, and I love it. I expected to like this recipe. I made this exactly as written except for backing off on the cayenne a bit. Still, all I could taste was cayenne and bland, unseasoned black beans. The flavor of the onions, garlic and quinoa all got lost. The real killer for me, though, was the texture. Just not enough variety. Sorry to pan it.

Hot Bean Dip
It was okay but not great. I made it as written. Took it to a superbowl party, and four hours later, only about a third of it had been eaten.

Bread Pudding II
Made this (on the spur of the moment) for dinner Christmas Eve; YUM! Warm, sweet, cinnamony... If this isn't Christmas on a plate, I don't know what is! We used a demi-loaf of French bread -- fresh, not day-old. My daughter did the assembling, and I think she left out the butter, but we didn't miss it at all. Also added a bit of freshly grated nutmeg, and sprinkled some pecan pieces on top. Used a 9x9 pan and checked it after 30 minutes; baked a total of 35 minutes. It's quite tasty without any sauce, but topping it with a vanilla or Kahlua cream sauce knocks it into one of the best desserts ever!
