Mom and I are in the market for a new toaster oven. Since we've gone gluten-free, the breads just don't toast as well in our toaster, but turn out beautifully in the oven, which takes too much time.  If you have a certain brand/model you swear by, please let us know.

All of you gluten-free cooks out there, keep those yummy recipes coming. Mom is getting better at bread making, but we're still in the market for any white sandwich bread recipes you swear by. Also, if any of you own a gluten-free bread maker would you give us your comments on that.

I used to do the cooking and Mom (Granny) would do the baking. Now she's retired, so I usually get to come home to a cooked meal.  I know most of you wouldn't even consider the idea of buying a house with your mom, but mine is my best friend and there are definite perks to our arrangement!

Time to get busy and try more of these yummy recipes!

OK, if you look at the recipes I have posted there are many gluten free items, lately I'm into creating desserts so you'll see lots of desserts. If you can eat Spelt which is wheat-free NOT gluten free, there are also some good recipes for bread, I just created a spelt/rye bread which is excellent. The Gluten-Free Brownies I created are great - Brown Rice or White Rice flour does the trick. http://allrecipes.com/personalrecipe/63481248/vegan-gluten-free-brownies/detail.aspx If you can get over to Whole Foods you'll find some really good gluten-free breads to try.

About Me
Mom says I have enough cookbooks to fill a library and I love looking at them, but more often I find myself checking out the internet for recipes.
My favorite things to cook
Anything and everything!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Enjoying homemade Crumb Cake on Holiday mornings. Our recipe has been in the family for many generations. Before Grandma passed away, we always enjoyed her Banana Pudding. She did something to the crumbs that I haven't been able to duplicate and, like usual, Grandma never had a recipe for it.
My cooking triumphs
My greatest triumph was making my Grandma's homemade cinnamon rolls when I was 9. After a quick long distance phone call to Grandma, they turned out great! I've been cooking and baking ever since. It's my favorite hobby!
My cooking tragedies
There have been many, but I put them out of my mind. If not I'm afraid I'd never experiment again!
