Barbie Doll Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2007
great recipe. I used my pampered chef large batter bowl and an 8 inch round cake pan with 2 boxes of cake mix and it was perfect. I did drop the temp a little and add time but I don't recall exactly the numbers so that it would cook through. I did have to bend Ariel's legs to get them in the cake at a good level but she fit just fine and my neice Emma was tickled pink when she saw it. I made a matching little ariel for my neice Sara as it was a shared birthday party and she just demolished it all. Both were thrilled that they had a doll to play with later. A fun recipe.

Portuguese Sweet Bread III

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2007
I changed it a little. I added 4 more egg yolks to make it more yellow and an extra half cup of sugar. it comes out pretty dense and much more authentic this way. Not exactly heart healthy but surely YUMMY!

Cider Cheese Fondue

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2007
OK so I just made this again for the 3rd time and wow I made it even simpler. I got a cheddar, monteray jack and asadero chees mix and used spiced cider and it was fantastic!!! my original post is below. This was a GREAT recipe! I made it for a party but had to make it the next day in a much smaller batch to try it myself because by the time I had a chance to try it the entire double batch had vanished! I served it with mini hot dogs, apple, beer bread, french bread and broccoli. A total hit I printed out the recipe at the party because it was so talked about. Super easy to make it was creamy and smooth both times. Financially reasonable unlike many recipes for cheese fondue that I found and no alcohol was involved. Highly recommended!

Eggnog Cookies III

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2006
this recipe was yummy but it needed just a little flare so I took 3/4 cup of confectioner's sugar with 1tsp of nutmeg and mixed about 3-4 tablespoons of eggnog into it to just make it slightly runny. After putting it in a pastry bag with a tiny hole at the end I drizzled it over the cookies then sprinkled red and green sugar over it to give it a festive look. It took a bit for the cookies to dry but it seemed to go faster when I put them in the oven that was barely warm after having it shut off from baking for a while. YUMMY this way!

Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: May 22, 2006
one word.... YUMMY!! I used half stone ground wheat flour and added some wheat bran to add a little fiber. I have some friends allergic to nuts so I didn't add any but imagine that some walnuts would add some amazing flavor and texture. this recipe was moist and amazingly yummy. I would make one suggestion however... make sure that all of your bananas are VERY ripe. It adds natural sweetness.

Super Moist Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2005
great vegan treat! very yummy although you have to beware and bake it in the 8 inch pan not a 9 inch or it really doesn't come out right. I made the batch with 2 different sized pans because that was what I had available and the 9 inch cooked wrong. I brought it to work and it was a great treat!
