Spicy Refrigerator Dill Pickles

I make jars and jars of these when my garden is producing lots of cukes. Everyone likes them and when a jar is opened, they disappear fast. i do use 1/2 the sugar. I have made them in spears and in large slices. We only have two jars left in the fridge now in November. They will be gone soon. I have even saved the juice and added more cukes to it, but only do this once and eat them as soon as the 10 days is up.

Lentil Soup

Great recipe. But I always cook with what I have at hand. And that included a big ham bone from Christmas. I made stock with the bone, defatted the broth and used it. The last of the ham pieces went into the soup too. (Eliminate all salt when using ham) Frozen tomatoes from my garden and spinach only in the amount to be eaten, as I do not like the way it gets when overcooked. Yes to the vinegar. I love the way you can make soup your own with a good basic recipe like this one.
