About this Cook
My Mom was very much a creative cook especially when it came to creating delicious vegetarian meals. I've inherited her expansive spice rack and many of her recipes which continue to be favourites. I love cooking and baking for my boyfriend.
My favorite things to cook
I love baking breads. Even though I have a bread maker I prefer to form and kneed the bread by hand. I love learning how to make things from scratch. My favourites are sourdough starter, sauerkraut, and brewing my own gingerbeer pop.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love cooking from scratch and learning how to make things by hand rather than buying pre-made or processed foods.
My cooking triumphs
Created an entire trifle from scratch including, custards, lady fingers, jelly, and whipping cream. Brewed my most delicious batch of gingerbeer yet. I now make my own sauerkraut.
My cooking tragedies
Too much yeast in my gingerbeer. Oh the tummy ache. :( Fish and Chips Fail. Don't use multigrain bread for bread crumbs. GROSS!
