Hawaiian Banana Nut Bread

This was a very tasty and different banana nut bread. It was moist and delicious. I left out the maraschino cherries because of personal preference. I froze one loaf for about a month and it was every bit as delicious as the one we ate fresh. This is a nice loaf to have on hand for company. It goes great with tea or coffee.

Absolutely the BEST Rich and Creamy Blue Cheese Dressing Ever!

This is a tasty and easy to make blue cheese dressing recipe. After having made this dressing my personal preference is the sour cream/mayo type. I wanted to try something different which is why I tried this recipe. My guests and husband enjoyed it very much.

Cream of Pumpkin Soup

This is an excellent base for either a savory or sweet cream of pumpkin soup. When I made it yesterday, I wanted a savory version for our family. I DOUBLED the recipe as given with the following adjustments: (1) Did NOT make the croutons (2) Used unsalted homemade chicken broth (3) Used total of 3 cans of pumpkin puree (4) Used total of 1 1/4 cups heavy cream (5) Used 3 teaspoons salt for total recipe (6) Added 1/2 tsp. Penzey's Chipotle ground red pepper (7) Added 1/2 tsp. Penzey's Ancho Chili pepper ground (8) Added 2 extra good shakes of cinnamon (9) Added fresh ground nutmeg (approx 1/4 tsp.) (10) Used an immersion blender right in the pan rather than pouring into a blender. This was a rich and delicious savory soup. It actually tastes even better the next day. I would suggest you start with only 1/4 tsp. of the Chipotle and Ancho ground peppers and taste and adjust according to your preferences.

Cranberry Macadamia Nut Bark

I made this bark recipe along with several others to give as Christmas gifts. It was very easy to make and I liked the taste of the dried cranberries and macadamias in the white bark. After the holidays I asked my gift recipients to rate the barks from most favorite to least favorite. This came in as the LEAST favorite. In the future I will NOT make it again for gifts, but will make it for our family. By the way, the bark that was everyones favorite was the Oreo Cookie bark on this site.

Oreo™ Cookie Bark

This was fantastic! Last year I made this as well as a few other barks for holiday gift bags. This one is quite addictive. The recipe couldn't be easier. Make sure you use chunks of cookie and NOT crumbs or it will not look very pretty. Thanks for the recipe.

Cherry-Pistachio Bark

I made this recipe last year as part of my food gift packages for family and friends. They were a huge success. Everyone seemed to really like the combination of cherries and pistachios. Thanks for a tasty and easy recipe.

Hungarian Mushroom Soup

My husband and I really loved this soup! I followed the recipe as given with a couple very minor exceptions. I used more mushrooms and I varied the type - 8 oz. white button, 8 oz. shitake, and 8 oz. portabello. I also increased the salt for our tastes. As extra assurance that I didn't have any lumps in my milk and flour mixture, I threw it in the blender for 30 seconds. This soup is chunky, creamy, and has a wonderful flavor. I would serve this to company in a heartbeat.

Burgundy Pork Tenderloin

I made this tonight for dinner and it was fabulous! My husband said it was great and he would like to have it again. The next time I think I will add some mushrooms for something a little different. Also, I needed to use 2 packages of gravy mix since I still had 2 cups of wine left after cooking the tenderloin. Each package will do 1 cup of liquid.
