German Christmas Gingerbread

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2004
We made this recipe two times this christmas. My daughter and her friend made one together that my daughter's friend took home and then we made one just for the house. It makes a lot of dough so a large house can be made with many features around it. My daughter and her friend made a thick house so it needed additional internal support. The second one we rolled thinner and it turned out very well and no supports were needed.

Vegetable Chowder

Reviewed: Feb. 29, 2004
this soup was well liked by my family. I did alter it a bit after reading other reviews. I will make this many times. I have used frozen vegetables, cooked them and then put them in the food processer for just a few seconds to chop the vegetables up.

Garlic Chicken Pizza

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2006
I used the sauce, granualted garlic, chees and chicken breasts and added fresh baby spinach on the topping. Since I do not have a bread machine I used Jay's Signatue Pizza Crust, submitted by Jason Sharp. The pizza turns out excellent. I have given out the recipe and have taken the pizza to many events.

Jay's Signature Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2006
I used this pizza crust recipe to make the garlic chicken pizza, submitted by Becky M, since I do not have a bread machine to make the crust that is suggested in her recipe. I brushed the crust with butter and then sprinkled garlic powder over the crust. It made a nice thin crust since I made it in a large pan. There have been times where I have divided the dough between two smaller pans. This is a wonderful recipe! I will use this often. I have also given the recipe to other people.

Banana Pancakes I

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2006
These went very well with my family. I did add finely ground nuts and vanilla so they would be more like banana bread. I used one large banana that was very ripe.

My family liked the dressing and salad. We didn't realy care for the chow mein noodles though. I think next timeI will use craisins as another reviewer mentioned.

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2006
My daughter used this cookie recipe as an afternoon activity for a school-age child she was babysitting for. The parents of the child and older sibblings found the cookies very good. The mother asked for the recipe. This is the chocolate chip cookie recipe that my daughter uses when she makes cookies.

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2006
This was excellent. I was short on the diced tomatoes so I substituted a can of tomato soup and a can diced chili peppers this worked out well. I also left out the beer. My family really enjoyed it.

Ultimate Spicy Spud Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2008
This is an excellent winter soup! It reminds me of the sausage soup that Olive Garden serves. I minced my garlic and onion and cooked them for a minute or two in olive oil. I then added the sausage and proceeded with the recipe as stated. My family went back for seconds.

Actually Delicious Turkey Burgers

Reviewed: May 25, 2008
This is a very good alternative to a hamburger. I took the advice of other reviewers and added what they recommended. I did add a small cube of feta cheese inside each burger and it tasted great! I did cut the recipe in half, however, I wouldn't have needed to since my family like them. My husband and daughters asked if I had made more. This recipe will replace my summertime burger recipe.

Easy Granola Bars

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2009
This is a wonderful recipe! It is so easy to make. I used a large cookie sheet so the bars were thinner and crispy. I liked the tip about using waxed paper to press the dough out on the cookie sheet. As suggested, I increased the oatmeal to 4 cups and omitted the butter. I have used dried cherries, dried berries in the recipe along with nuts. This recipe was liked at work that I have shared this recipe with many co-workers.

Peanut Butter Cupcakes

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2009
Loved the cupcakes. This recipe is so easy to make. I needed a large number of cupcakes for a function and this worked out great. This is like a gourmet bakery item with the chocolate peanut butter candy inside of it and a chocolate fudge frosting on top. As a finishing touch, I place half a minature peanut butter cup on top of the frosting.

Chai Tea Mix

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2009
This recipe is fabulous. With snow falling outside and the temperture in the 30 degree range for the day, this tea just warms the body. I mixed up a recipe today, following the suggestions above the recipe. I also added a 1 1/2 teaspoons of pumpkin spice since the coffee shop I visit has a chai that tastes like "pumpkin pie in a cup". Thank you for sharing this recipe. I no longer have to pay $4 for a mug of chia.

Baked Fried Eggplant

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2009
This is a good simple recipe. I did increase the temperture to 350 degrees and sweated the eggplant after peeling and cutting it up. I also sprinkled the eggplant with lemon juice so the pieces would not brown. I did add garlic salt to my dredging flour so the pieces had extra flavor.

Spicy Slow Cooker Black Bean Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2009
This is a very good soup to add to one's recipe collection. I did cut back on the heat and it still had a good flavor. I also, used my immersion blender to give the soup a little more thickness. Too top of the soup I added a dollop of sour cream, a sprinkle of cheese and served it with cheese-its.
