Mom's Apple Salad

My  Mom made this salad every Thanksgiving...I love it.   1C half and half 1 c sugar 1 egg,  pinch of salt, in a sauce pan bring to a boil stirring constantly for five minutes add one tsp. vanilla. Let it cool.  Cut up about six cups of granny smith and mac apples, 3stalks of celery, a cup of walnuts ( some people add grapes, not me) . Put the chopped ingredients in a bowl and mix in the cooled sauce.  It is delicious.Thank you Mom....

Sounds yummy. Just like a Waldorf salad but with a cooked dressing. I may just have to make this soon. Thanx for sharing.

I got to get the apples and celery and nuts and also green red and black seedless grapes to make that. also some oranges and lemons for the cranberry relish that another lady shared in this news letter.
