My cooking tragedies
when I first began baking GF, I didnt know how important guam/xantham gum was. I baked a whole batch of sugar cookies with my little sister. the dough tasted amazing, and the cookies looked great coming out of the oven, but when we tried to scrape them off the cookie sheet, they crumbled into sand!!! learned that lesson the hard way! ;) -it did make great topping for icecream though...

Mary's Cheesecake
I have never made cheesecake before and this turned out fantastic! I even added blue dye and strawberries to make it 4th of July cheesecake. I will use this recipe again!

Best Buttercream Frosting
BEST FROSTING EVER! At first, I was a little wary of this recipe; as I was cooking the milk and the flour, it wasn't thickening. But that is when I realized that the flour had sunk to the bottom and thickened into a paste which stuck to the bottom of the pan. But as I scraped that up, the milk thickened right away. It was disgusting looking and at that point I was 95% positive that I was NOT going to use this recipe. But boy was I wrong! After beating it with the butter and sugar mix it became fluffy and delicious. By far one of my top frosting favorites. It still has a buttercream flavor to it, but it is airy and less dense than traditional butter cream. I found that it worked really well with an almond flavoring. Definitively see this one through to the end. The recipe even made enough to generously decorate a three layer cake!

Sugar Cookie Cutouts
I actually really loved this recipe! They tasted good, and the texture was decent. I even made them gluten free and they turned out fantastic! I was thrilled when they didn't crumble when decorated. They frosted quiet nicely.
