Johnny's Grub Rub

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2002
I liked it, but it did have too much cumin. Next time I will put 1/4 the cumin, otherwise the heat and spices were great!

Roasted Vegetable Chicken

Reviewed: May 5, 2002
I'm not sure the recipe is right, or maybe the onions are smaller than listed. I used a whole yellow and it seemed like a lot. Anyway, it was very good.

Pastitsio II

I used penne pasta. This recipe took a lot of effort, maybe because it was my first time making it. It tasted pretty good, but I probably own't make it again.

Skillet Ham, Cabbage and Potatoes

Yummy! I diced and fried my potatoes before adding and it came out great! I am going to make it again, this time using ground beef. Thanks Priscilla!

Barbecue Ribs

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2002
These were tender and the flavor was good. I wish the sauce was thicker, though.

Blackberry and Blueberry Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2001
I modified, too, by adding 1/3 cup white sugar, a pinch of salt and 1 TBS cornstarch and omitting the butter patting (it only adds fat). I used straight from the freezer frozen marion blackberries (16+oz) and wild maine bluberries (12oz). I also used a frozen Marie Callender's double-crust. It turned into the most delectable deep-dish B&B Berry Pie ever!

Rosemary Roasted Turkey

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2001
This was easy! I used my favorite dried herbs and was able to spread my figners under almost all of the skin, including the legs and thighs. The meat was really moist and flavorful, you'll have to ask the dogs about the skin. The leftover turkey sandwich I had today was the best, thanks!

Slow Cooker Stuffing

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2001
This was a little moister than I like, but overall a good stuffing and so much easier to deal with, thanks!

Baked Pesto Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2001
This was pretty good, but I think it would be better if it marinated for some time.

These were great and a big hit with both husband and son. I've always loved these and haven't been able to find the frozen version from Bird's Eye in the store for years. Thanks Stephanie!

Cornbread Muffins I

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2001
I used a can of corn. These turned out good, especially nuked in the microwave for a few seconds and swathed in butter! My 6 year old loved the real "corn" in them! The recipe made more than 12 muffins.

Grilled Salmon I

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2001
This was really good! I marinated the salmon filet for about an hour in a zippy bag and put it on the George Foreman grill for 5 minutes. The marinade made some nice crispy grill marks. I did reduce the soy sauce and added some fresh lemon juice.

This was really good! I used it on my tri-tip, although I substituted cumin for curry. It tasted great the next day reheated on steak rolls, too.

Apple Dumplings I

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2001
I took others' advice and omitted the water. They were hard to make, and the apples aren't specified so I used the red ones I had. Overall, it wasn't what I was expecting. Dumplings I have had in the past were crisp-crusted, these were a little gooey and not worth all of the effort.

Flaky Crescent Mushroom Turnovers

These were good although I didn't butter the tops or use any seeds. Also, I left the shape original and just rolled up crescent style.

Glazed Meatloaf I

The glaze was really good, but the meatloaf itself was a little dry, maybe because I used 80/20 ground beef.
