About this Cook
I am originally from upstate New York but moved to North Carolina after marrying my wonderful husband Jason in 2006. We have 2 dogs and hopefully someday I will be blessed with children as well. I love to cook and create new things in my kitchen because I truly believe that food is the way to anyone's heart, it brings me great pleasure to be able to share my passion with people who enjoy it :)
My favorite things to cook
I pretty much enjoy cooking everything. I guess you can say my specialty would be Italian food. I enjoy learning about new cultures and their food traditions and experimenting in making unfamiliar dishes to me.
My favorite family cooking traditions
When I was younger I remember cooking with my mom and learning the basic things that any cook needs to know as well as baking with my grandma all the time, I will always cherish all of these memories. A few month ago I decided to bring back the Sunday family dinner and it has been very successful and delicious so far. Every week I try to pick a new country to cook food in that style...italian, mexican, asian ect. It has been very fun to share this with my family and friends as well as very educational when it comes to different flavors and ingredients that I wouldn't normally use.
My cooking triumphs
I feel like I have mastered any italian sauce, no matter what ingredients you want in it or what you are serving it with I can create from scratch a sauce that tastes absolutely delicious. If necessary I can create it in minutes or create a sauce that after simmering all day is like heaven in your mouth :)
My cooking tragedies
I have made quite a few mistakes in my experimenting but I consider those to be learning points. If I didn't make the mistakes I wouldn't be a real cook, you have to try new things and test the do's and don'ts in order to create a masterpiece. If you say you are a cook and you've never made a mistake then well you aren't being creative enough!
