Fun Cookie Suckers

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2005
Very cool! Made for a bake sale and were the first ones gone. It is important to roll the "snakes/worms" the same size, because when baked some will be very brown while others under-baked. I used popsicle sticks and just pushed down a little on the dough and they stuck just fine! Thanks for sharing a fun recipe!

The Most Popular Cake in America Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2005
This cake didn't rise much, was dense and firm. It's more of a chewy cake - like hot milk cake. It does have a very nice flavor though. I was looking for a more fluffy white birthday type cake. I would cream the sugar and butter instead of mixing in with egg, as the butter stayed in clumps rather than creamed...but perhaps that's what gave the cake the little "pockets".

Chewy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2004
Very good - Thank you. I will definately make again. If you want crunchier cookies increase baking time. If you want chewier, decrease baking time. The only thing I did different was used 1/4 cup of white sugar and 1-1/4 cup brown - as brown sugar tends to make a shofter cookie. Also, make sure you leave them to cool on the sheet before you remove them (like she said) or you will have a mess..

Tofu Parmigiana

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2004
It's hard to rate a recipe when the main ingredient is not one particularly favorable. If you like tofu then perhaps you will like this recipe. I didn't like it at all. The tofu was soggy and it was quite a mess with the dipping...personally tofu is tofu - no matter how you prepare it, it still has that flavor.

Italian Cucumber Sandwiches

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2004
I was looking for something simple to make and it was. It looked nicer than plain sandwiches. Flaver was OK, nothing special - doubt if I will make again. Everyone has different tastes - so try it yourself....thanks

Sweet and Sour Sauce I

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2004
I used lemon juice instead of vinegar, used 1/2 c. brown sugar & 1/4 c. white added some ginger, garlic and shredded carrot. Mixed the sauce with some beef I simmered for about an hour and put it on rice - it was good. Next time I will try pork ribblets. Everyone liked it. Thanks for sharing

Made this tonight for supper and everyone loved it ! Even my picky 12 year old ate it. I added some fresh garlic to the onions and used mushroom soup instead of chicken soup. Thanks for sharing

Oatmeal Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2004
Mmmmmm very good. Made these tonight and are very tasty and chewy. I used all natural peanut butter. You can make these chewy or crispy - just bake longer for a crispier texture. Thanks for Sharing !

Christmas Breakfast Sausage Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2004
This was very tasty! The mustard gives it a pleasant zip. My whole family enjoyed this - went for seconds and thirds! I will experiment next time by subbing bacon for the suasage and adding onion and mushrooms.

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2003
These were delicious !! I have had many other recipes and none come close. If you didn't like these you either didn't use "fresh" ingredients or made an error in measurements. These are for-sure a KEEPER!!!! Thanks Verona, for sharing !
