Jimmy Dean Hearty Sausage Mini Quiches

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2012
Let me first say that these are DELICIOUS. I did make some changes, but I followed the recipe fairly closely. Instead of regular pork sausage, I used the pre-cooked crumbled turkey sausage. Not only does it save time, but it saves a lot of fat and calories too. I loaded the quiche with veggies: zuchinni, green onion, bell pepper and carrots. By adding so many veggies, I was able to get 24 mini quiches out of this recipe. By following a previous tip of putting the sausage mixture into the muffin tin and topping with egg, I had NO problem getting the quiches out of the pan. I did not use any paper liners. Once out of the oven, I flipped the quiches on to a baking sheet and put them in the freezer so I could then put them into a ziploc bag. Making a big batch of these and freezing them allows me to have quiche anytime! Just put two in the microwave for a minute and enjoy!

Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: May 17, 2011
These are very fluffy and quite easy to make into small or large pancakes, but we found that they tasted bland. We don't drown (flavor) the pancakes with syrup so we like a flavorful cake from the start. I will definitely experiment with spices because the texture is sooo great!

Honey Mustard Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2009
My family and I love this dish. I made it as written the first time, but I felt that it wasn't flavorful enough. Having made this more than 10 times, I now eyeball all of the ingredients. I increased the amount of curry and paprika to our liking. I also use chicken tenders instead of bone-in chicken. This dish can be thrown together in 10 mintues and ready to eat in 35-40. Great for a quick meal any night of the week! I serve this chicken with rice or mashed potatoes. Doubling the sauce makes for a delicious gravy!

Allie's Delicious Baked Dumplings

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2009
Delicious recipe. I made the recipe as written the first time. After that, I made just a few changes. Instead of 1c. white sugar, I used 1/2 cup of an equal mix brown/white sugar. I also decreased the amount of cinnamon (to taste) and chopped the apples into coarse chunks. I've also used this recipe with fresh and canned peaches. I think you could use any type of fruit filling for a quick and easy personal sized pie. This is a definite keeper!

Self-Filled Cupcakes I

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2009
These cupcakes are fantastic. I made the recipe as written the first time and they were delicious - but the cream cheese ended up on the bottom of the cakes (still delicious). Each time since then, I've used mini chips as other have suggested. I also filled the cupcake liners 1/2 full, topped with the cream cheese mixture and then added just a dollop more of cake batter.

Fettuccine Alfredo with Ham

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2009
This was a great recipe. I followed everything pretty closely, but used penne instead of fettuccine and added 1/4 diced onions to the saute pan with the ham. I also added 1/2 cup of frozen petite peas after tossing the pasta and the sauce. The heat transfer from the sauce and pasta heats the peas perfectly.

Creamy Potato Lasagna

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2005
I've made this recipie several times - each time varying the ingredients a little. I've used turkey or ham, fresh broccoli vs. frozen, chopped onion and garlic, mozzerella and swiss cheeses. With the right spices and a good flavorful Alfredo sauce, this dish can rock. Kids love it too!

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2004
I loved this recipie and I only changed a few things. First, I added a lot more potatoes and veggies. Then after all of that was boiled up and transfered, I added two cans of whole kernal corn and a few handfuls of cheddar cheese. I definitely added more pepper and nixed the salt.

Neapolitan Bundt Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2003
this cake is absolutely delicious! Since I live on a military base that is not near anything else, I had to make do with what I had. The commissary doesn't carry strawberry extract so I just used Hershey's Strawberry syrup and it tasted wonderful!
