Sugar Cookie Frosting

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2014
This frosting is delicious, it dries hard in no time. Only substitutions I made was add half butter, half shortening and added almond extract instead and added a bit more. The frosting is a bit thick and won't produce the prettiest frosting for cookies, but add sprinkles on top and it is delicious.

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2014
I liked this recipe a lot. I did add an additional sugar and found the taste to be good (1/2 C) and added an additional 1 tsp of vanilla. I refrigerated overnight and frosted next day, delish. Don't roll too thin unless you like crispy cokies, roll thick for soft ones. Baked at 375 for 10 minutes, rotating half way.

Buttery Soft Pretzels

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2013
I really liked the flavor of these pretzels and they were pretty easy to make. I just wish that they were came out less puffy, if that makes sense because the traditional pretzels are thin and the coating on the outside is hard, while the inside is soft and chewy. I did not get that from this recipe. Maybe I did something wrong, but looking at all the pix submitted, I realize that their pretzels looked a lot like mine. I was hoping for something different and I will continue to search for the best pretzel recipe out there. Again, these taste good, but are not the consistency I am looking for. These might need less yeast so that they are not as puffy and hold their safe better.

Janet's Rich Banana Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2013
I loved this recipe. I have one that I use often and this texture was okay for me, I prefer mine better. But I do like the moistness of the cake and how easy it is to make. I will be making this recipe again and again when I am in a hurry. I did add 1 C full of mashed bananas rather than sliced ones. Thanks for sharing.

Chewy Cocoa Brownies

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2013
I love brownies in general and this recipe was really good. My daughter took these for V-day party at school and all the kids requested more for snack! Keep an eye on these when they cook as the edges can get a little dry and make sure to cool after they have cooled. My hubby prefers "the best brownies" from this site, but my kids seem to have liked these better when I made a batch of each for comparison. I think this is a great recipe and will make again. Thanks for sharing.

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

These are really good. I personally like a sweeter pancake but after the syrup is added, they are perfect. My husband really liked these.

Creamy Rice Pudding

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2013
I loved this recipe and so did my kids. I didn't have any raisins on hand and I found that I added 1 1/2 TBLP of additional sugar because we like it a bit sweeter. I must confess that I was worried about adding the egg, afraid it might scramble, but it didn't. Adding the egg is a must if you want that good pudding taste. I love the flavor and simplicity of this recipe. Thank you for sharing Erica G.

Pumpkin Pancakes

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2013
I love all things pumpkin but this is not what I was expecting from a highly rated pumpkin recipe. They were just okay for me, I might have to mess with the recipe a little to my liking.

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2013
I would give this recipe more stars if I could. I have been craving pumpkin lately and this is a perfect way to satisfy my cravings. Love it, it is moist, spicy and delicious. I halved the recipe and it worked out great. I had previously made it using less sugar and replacing some of the oil with applesauce but the original recipe tastes better. I like to add raisins and a bit of walnuts in mine. Thank you so much for this wonderful recipe.

Sopapilla Cheesecake Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2012
Oh my gosh! I can't believe I waited so long to make this. My husband loved it and he is not a big fan of cheesecake. I did reduce the sugar to 3/4C and also reduced the butter used for the top. I also added an egg. I know I should not rate the recipe before making it as written but I really don't think the recipe can be bad any way you make it. Super--Hubby is asking me to make again; a winner for sure. Thanks for sharing.

Peanut Butter Chews

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2012
I love these and so do my kids--so easy to make and the taste is amazing. I did use creamy and crunchy peanut butter and I think adding the crunchy one makes these taste similar to peanut brittle. (I do prefer these better w/ crunchy peanut butter) I made these last night and they were gone fast! Will make often, thanks for sharing.

Peanut Butter Bars I

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2012
These were good. Taste is similar to the peanut butter cups you find at the store. I personally did not have any trouble with mine as other' have. They do need time to set and I did only use 1 1/2 sticks of butter. My kids liked it but unlike other sweets I make, these lasted a while(in the fridge) because they are sooo rich. They were good, just not as good as I hoped.

Butter Crescents

These are absolutely amazing. You will be hooked when you try these. Don't let the sugar deter you from trying this recipe. I followed it to the T except adding an additional 1/2tsp of salt. Great for savory dishes. Love these.

Perfect Sesame Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2012
The sauce is absolutely delicious. I did reduce the amount of sugar based on other reviews; I only used 3/4C. make sure and add the cornstarch/water mixture slowly for desired consistency. I find that if you boil and boil the sauce, the need for cornstarch reduces drastically. So boil, boil, boil and reduce to get the perfect consistency; doing this will reduce your need to add a little bit of cornstarch/water mixture. I will be making this recipe again and again. I had previously made the coating using a different recipe, but try this one. The chicken comes out nice and crispy yet moist inside. Very, very good. Thank you!!!

Famous Butter Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2012
I give this recipe 4 stars as written. Upon reading other reviews, I added more seasoning to mine because some were complaining that the chicken was too bland. Here is what to do if you want moist, flavorful chicken. 1: cut your chicken in half. 2. season with seasoning salt. 3. dredge the chicken in seasoned flour(I used paprika and garlic powder. 4. dip in egg seasoned as well 5. dip in finely crushed cracker crumbs. Lastly, I added a little bit of garlic powder and paprika on top of the chicken prior to baking for 30 minutes. I served with mashed potatoes, dinner crescents and corn. Delish!!

Chicken Cordon Bleu II

Delicious, I did not add the wine but used chicken broth instead. Simply delicious and my whole family enjoyed it. We also do not like Swiss cheese and used mozzarella instead. The sauce is so delicious--served it with buttery rice, broccoli, and crescent rolls. YUM!!
