Butternut and Acorn Squash Soup

Spicy Slow Cooker Black Bean Soup

My first thought when I saw this recipe was "really? Zucchini alfredo?" But after I tried it, I found that this combination is AWESOME. The cream cheese instead of heavy cream makes for an ultimately creamy sauce. I will make this all summer with my abundant zucchini from the garden.

Grilled Bacon Jalapeno Wraps

Fantastic! Smoky, cheesy, and just plain good! Cooking jalapenos mellows the spice, so next time I may leave some seeds in when I stuff them.

Slow-Cooked White Chili

This recipe was very bland. I doctored it with a lot of salt and pepper and some cheddar cheese and it was much better. Will try other white chili recipes before making this again.

Cucumber-Mango Salsa

This recipe is fantastic! I have a tomato allergy, so salsa recipes without them are few and far between. This recipe is sweet, spicy, and all around excellent. I left the seeds in the jalapenos for some extra spice and I minced everything because I don't like chunks. This one is definately a keeper!

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

This recipe is fabulous and easy! It's even excellent reheated, and the leftover gravy goes great with meatloaf, too. For those that work all day, try plugging your slow cooker into an outlet timer; then it will come on at a specified time so you don't have to be home.

Strawberry Shortcake

Absolutely fabulous. I made this recipefor my father's birthday and he and I both loved it. Substituted peaches for the strawberries as I am allergic to strawberries. I might add a little bit more sugar to the batter next time as I would have liked it to be a hair sweeter. And be warned, when finished mixing, this is more like a bread dough than a batter; it will need to be spread into your pan, it will not pour like cake batter.

Peach Ice Cream

Will definately make this recipe again! Perhaps a little less sugar or a few peach chunks next time as the sweetness seems to outshine the peach flavor a little bit. If you don't have an ice cream maker, freeze in a metal bowl, stirring occasionally.

Amish White Bread

Absolutely fabulous! I bake a lot of bread, and this is by far one of the best recipes I've found. I heeded the advice of others and cut the sugar - one heaping third of a cup. I also used the bread hook on my KitchenAid stand mixer to knead the dough and made half the recipe into rolls. To do this, pull off chunks of dough and roll into balls about 3 inches across. Pinch seams to bottom and place on a greased and floured cookie sheet. They require 5-10 minutes less cooking time this way, so keep your eye on them. My father raved over them, and he's a hard man to please when it comes to cooking.

White Chocolate Fudge

The flavor of this fudge was very good, providing you like the taste of cream cheese or butter cream icing. Not quite what I was looking for. It set up extrememly soft, too. Perhaps add more white chocolate to give it a more fudgy texture. I found, however, that substituting white chocolate for the milk and dark in Aunt Teen's recipe on this site made a much better white fudge. It came out to be the right flavor and texture, while this was a bit like solid icing.

Pumpkin Fudge

Absolutely fantastic! I followed the directions *almost* to a "T". Only difference is that I added a bit of pumpkin pie spice with the cinnamon. It turned out to be the best pumpkin fudge I've ever had, even from a confectionary. My mother raved over it, and she's a die-hard chocoholic. I never thought she'd prefer the pumpkin fudge to the chocolate. Best advice I can give is FOLLOW THE RECIPE. Don't worry about candy thermometers and soft ball stage and all that. Oh, and line the pan with parchment, not aluminum foil. It doesn't tear as easily when you remove the fudge for cutting.

Aunt Teen's Creamy Chocolate Fudge

The best fudge recipe I've ever made! It set perfectly, cut perfecctly, and stored perfectly. Forget all the different advice on fudge making - follow the directions exactly. I left out the nuts as I'm allergic. The second time I made this, I used white chocolate, and it was far better than any other vanilla fudge recipe I've found so far. An easy versatile, fantastic recipe!

Bold Vegan Chili

I tried this recipe, and I thought it was the best chili I've ever had! I make it often. I find it especially good because I have a tomato allergy, but I don't have to alter the recipe to leave them out, as there aren't any.
