White Cheese Chicken Lasagna

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2004
This was fine - it just wasn't amazing. I thought it was going to be so good after reading the reviews but it was just alright. I'd rather have the regular.

Slow Cooker Chicken Creole

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2004
Yum. I added some extra celery, garlic & mushrooms and served over egg noodles. I used quite a bit of cajun seasoning, so it wasn't bland at all. The jalepeno really gave it a nice kick. So, easy too - and mine didn't stew nearly as long as called for. It smelled so good, once the chicken was done, it was getting eaten.

Lemon Pudding Cake I

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2004
Wow. I feel sorry for the family where this is a favorite. Something must have gone terribly wrong. Everybody thought the texture was just awful. It really was so bad - and the cake part was bland. Honestly, something must have gone wrong. I double checked everything but this was just the worst thing I've ever eaten.

Easy Vegetable Beef Soup

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2004
Good solid soup recipe! Nothing strange or unusual here and not to spicey. I will definately be making this again (probably next week.) Be aware though, this makes a lot of soup - I had eight 1 1/2 cup servings. My pot couldn't have held anymore!

Serbian Ground Beef, Veggie, and Potato Bake

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2004
I really didn't like the flavors in this dish and there was too much liquid. My Dad ate it - but no one else would. I thought it was just very strange.

Lentils And Spinach

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2004
Pretty good. This has a little bit more spinach than to my liking, but nice flavor - I served with cornbread.

Butter Crescents

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2004
Good - just shy of great. Not quite worth 5 stars. But, very easy which I appreciate. If you want a far star crescent roll & have some make ahead time and 2 potatos try Colleen's Potato Crescent Rolls on this site. Otherwise, this is a good second choice.

Salsa Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2004
Not quite as good as I expected it to be, but still pretty good. Plus, so easy. I poured the pan drippings into a skillet and added some cornstarch and water for a quick sauce.

Grandma's Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2004
I'd rather open a can of Campbells. This soup was just so dissapointing. So plain and drab. It was like poultry seasoning and water.

Lentil Soup III

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2004
I'm giving this one a bonus star because it's lentils. It's definately the best Lentil recipe I've ever tasted. I'm not a fan of this bean, but my mother loves it and made us eat them as children. I actually enjoyed these, though. I served them with cornbread muffins and it was really good. It wasn't very "soupy" - mine had very little broth. I also added an extra tablespoon or so of tomato paste and left out the lemon. We will have this again, maybe even regularly. (My mother would be so proud.)

Green Bean Okazu

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2004
Really pretty good and so quick and easy. I added 3 carrots and 1/2 a sweet onion as well as 2 extra Tbsp. sugar. After the dish sat though, I regretted the extra sugar. It seemed to sweeten overnight. So, I went ahead and added some rice in the morning and some extra soy sauce. All in all, it was good though. Kind of syrupy sweet, the sauce reminded me of when syrup from pancakes runs over on your sausage.

Ground Beef Shepherd's Pie

Reviewed: May 31, 2004
This was fine, not great. Just too bland. I added garlic powder and a can of beef broth. That seemed to help.

Colleen's Potato Crescent Rolls

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2003
I got a lot of praise with these rolls over Thanksgiving. They were real handy to have ready and tasted great. When kneeding it, the dough felt really "rubbery", but it turned out great, so I guess that was fine. This will probably be making regular appearances at our family get togethers.

Wassail Punch

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2003
I don't like Wassail, but I thought this punch was really good. Everyone else liked it too. Super easy and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I'll use this again.

Tiramisu II

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2003
This was good. I mean, it's tiramisu - how can it not be good? But, after reading the reviews I expected it to be great, and I was dissapointed even though I followed the recipe exactly. I've definitely had better and for what it costs to make this desert, I won't use this recipe again. I'll try one of the others next time.
