Cathy! Try putting two chopped up cloves of garlic, one in the potatoes and onions and one in the roux before stirring in the milk! It made it so amazing! I finally made this last night! It was delicious and ill be eating it for lunch today. This is my first review ever and I'm just excited that I was able to cook finally :). Of course I always put my own twists on it I also put italian herbs, a garlic salt pepper (very light) and chopped up chives on the very top. I cooked the potatoes for about 20 minutes on medium heat just to soften them so I could cook them for only about 45 minutes in the oven. Towards the end I took the aluminum foil off so I could let the top bubble and brown! We had it with asparagus and delicious steaks
