About this Cook
I was married for 18 years and am a mother of five to: Mikael~he's 16, Gabriel~he's 14, Ovsanna~she's 12, Rachel~she's 11 and Joseph David~he's 9. I do so love to cook with my children. Just about any recipe can be adapted to having the children help with. My children already have a great love for cooking and spices. I love to try new recipes with my family.
My favorite things to cook
Any recipe with my children. Any recipe that gets my children quiet at the table eating heartily (which means it's something that they really like). Casseroles, crockpot recipes, "comfort" foods. Pies, cakes, all kinds of desserts. Fabulous drinks like my Mikael's Wassal and lime sherbert in cherry soda!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Our holiday menus are always the same from year to year. I always alternate meats throughout the week so as not to have one meat on two days in a row. Our traditions are adapting as my children are getting older they are cooking along side me more and more. :)
My cooking triumphs
Holiday meals. Crockpot recipes always come out great. My homemade chilli recipe has proved to be a hit. There's probably more but I cannot recall at this present time.
My cooking tragedies

Best Brownies
These brownies were certainly rich and fudgy. My first three attempts did not come out all of that good in my oppinion but my children ABSOLUTELY LOVED them. I doubled the recipe and they came out like a runny fudge. This last time I didn't double the recipe but made it as the ingredients call for and baked them in a 9x9 inch pan. As for the frosting this final time I mixed in 3/4 cup of peanut butter in the frosting and heated it up on the stove. I think that I'll not buy any more boxed brownie mixes ever again after trying this recipe. The trick is not to expect a thick brownie. If you don't love chocolate don't try this recipe. My sons are requesting I only bake them for half of the time but I don't recommend it even though they'll come out like delectable fudge. You can't go wrong with this recipe and believe me I've made my mistakes with this recipe but my kiddoes ate all of those mistakes all up and loved every minute of it. JMO

Too Much Chocolate Cake
absolutely amazingly delicious cake. I make this for my oldest son's birthday every year and lately more of the family has been requesting it on more and more occasions. It's delectable and delicious. For a great variation add some peanut butter chips to the batter as well. You won't be disappointed.

Butternut Squash Soup II
Excellent recipe to make ahead of time and serve on that special day. Warms you from the inside out and has a wonderfull bouquet of flavors! Definately a keeper in my house. The third time I made this I used just chicken broth and it turned out great as well. I trippled the recipe every time I made it and my younger children gobbled it right up :)
