Slow Cooker Tender and Yummy Round Steak

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2004
We love sauce and gravy so I usually make at least two cans of mushroom soup with this and a little more water. We sometimes eat it in a bowl with sour cream and/or Louisiana hot sauce. Easy way to please people who like different degrees of heat/spicyness.

Barbequed Ribs

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2004
I made slight changes but only for time and meat preference. I used spare ribs, put the rub on the raw meat, refrigerated overnight, threw them in a covered Pyrex at 300 degrees as I ran out the door. Came home 3 hours later and lifted them out of the grease into the crockpot. Made the sauce, poured it over them, and left them 5 hours on low, and they were delicious. My husband said maybe less vinegar next time, but otherwise GREAT!! My picky eater son kept dipping French fries in the sauce it was so good! Definitely a keeper. Thanks for the great recipe!

Chinese Napa Cabbage Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2004
Thanks for sharing this recipe. I loved it so much I now automatically make it with two bags of chopped cabbage from the store because we love this recipe. It's good with chicken breasts and egg rolls if you have a large crowd to feed.

Chili Cheese Dip I

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2006
Yummy--the real cheeses are MUCH better than fake or lowfat cheese. I add the small cans of chopped green chiles for a little more warmth. You can also add ground beef, salsa, chopped jalapenos to taste. Great for potlucks with scoops or tortilla chips. Thanks for posting this!

Bear's Picnic Veggie Dip

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2006
This is a great dip! Sometimes I add dried dill and/or chives or green onions, but it is perfect as a basic recipe! Good way to get kids to eat veggies. Thanks Susan!

Garden Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2008
Excellent recipe! I use a larger amount of dressing when I add broccoli or cauliflower because they seem to really soak it up. Nice staple to have for a crowd. Another interesting option is to add a little dried mint leaves--adds a fresh taste. Thanks for sharing!

Easy French Dip Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2008
I tried this the day I found it on here. I doubled this on a day when extra kids were coming over for dinner and everyone LOVED these. We were all starving and they were a big hit--thanks for sharing! (some of us put hot pepper rings on our sandwiches--good if you like to add a little kick)

BLT Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2008
I make lots of pasta salads, but had never used a creamy dressing so I just tried this for a huge picnic. After seeing other's reviews I added a few more veggies for more crunch and to make a huge amount. I had a cucumber, grape tomatoes, broccoli, and celery on hand so I added lots of them for more crunch and color. We used the already cooked bacon from Sam's Club and microwaved a whole package of it and crumbled it into the salad. We purposely added more veggies and dressing, but the same amount of pasta because it was for a huge gathering. Most people said they liked it. Thanks for the great idea!

Broccoli Chicken Casserole I

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2008
Loved this, although I do substitute a little as others do. I only had canned chicken breasts and used that (2 cans), which I only use in soups or casseroles. The canned pieces flake apart like canned tuna, so I stir eveything together in a bowl and then put it in the baking dish. I also did not have the stuffing mix so I used a sleeve of butter crackers with a little melted butter drizzled on top. Great comfort food! Thanks for a great recipe!

Lisa's Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2008
Excellent! A great recipe you can count on turning out right--looks great and tastes terrific! Rich enough to serve without any frosting, but powdered sugar or a tiny bit of glaze are nice too. Thanks for sharing!

Chili Cheese Dip II

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2009
Superb! We make this for office carry-ins and large gatherings--triple or quadruple for a slow cooker and it is a huge hit everywhere. I bought the institutional size can of chili yesterday and added 2 packages of cream cheese and a tiny can of the green chiles and it was great. FYI--that huge can fills the larger slow cookers almost to the top and is a nice shortcut to remember for a large party.

Eclair Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2009
This is yummy! I did follow the advice of others and microwaved the frosting and poured it on, then refrigerated it. Thanks for a great recipe that's fun and quick to put together! I'm sure other flavors of pudding and frosting would be great to try too. Our youth group devours this every time we bring it!

Dee's Roast Pork for Tacos

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2009
My family loved this and my kids do not usually ever eat pork. Excellent combination of flavors--I made it in a slow cooker because of time constraints and it came out just terrific. Flavorful, tender, juicy, and it is great for tacos or any other Mexican wraps. One of our new favorites--thanks for sharing it!

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2009
Love this recipe! I do sometimes add the potatoes, carrots, and onions as others have. I also have used a can of French onion soup instead of the dry soup mix and 2 Tbls of Kitchen Bouquet to add color and depth to recipe. Terrific for slow cooker meal that is always tasty and tender. Good enough to serve your in-laws!

This cake is delicious! Some people think it looks unfinished and not ready to eat because it is unfrosted, but everyone who tries it knows it is just perfect as is. Excellent! Thanks!

S'mores Crumb Bars

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2010
I followed the other reviewers who said to double the crackers, butter and sugar. I used crackers and crumbs because I had both on hand. Took it to youth group and they devoured it. The finished pan is not pretty and does not "cut" like pretty bars, but the taste is yummy! We just put a small spatula in the pan and let the kids dish up their own servings and that worked well. Will make this often--very quick and tasty! Thanks!

Strawberry Pretzel Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2010
We have had this salad at parties before, but just made it yesterday for the first time. I misread the amount of strawberries and only had one package, but it still came out delicious. The sweet and salty combination is so addictive! Very pretty and once it's set looks like it travels well for carry-ins and potlucks. Thanks for sharing! I'm eating another large helping as I write!
