Minnesota Golf Course Chili

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2007
We are Minnesotan's. I love this recipe, although it is a little bland. I prefer a little more flavor. To start I wanted to do this in the crock pot, so I browned the Hamburger and then the veggies in a pan. I added the rest, plus a bit more chili powder, a little cumin, as well as a few glugs of worschestire, and a dash or two of cinnamon. Awesome, because we like the chili a little sweet I added 2 tablespoons of sugar rather then the 1. Good basic start to a great pot of chili.

Taco Salad II

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2007
This is a great recipe, my family has done this since I was a little kid, but my mom liked to use Dorito's, then skipping taco seasoning, and that is just delicious!! Should try it!

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2007
Awesome cookie!! I will never use another recipe for CC cookies then this. I have made them with different chips. Recently I sent out Large Jars with all the dry ingrediants for Christmas. Today I made them with mint chocolate chips, the same in the Christmas Jars, and along with the chips & nuts, I added about 1 cup of oatmeal. They are awesome!! Thank you Dora!! Try the mint chips, they smell so wonderful.

Leona's Lefse

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2006
This is a great recipe for lefse. I am very Scandinavian, Erickson's and Millers are the family names. Lefse should only be served with either butter, or butter and sugar. Never any odd types of toppings. I love the ease of this recipe. Also they should be light golden brown, very similar in color to a tortilla. Never burnt or dark dark anywhere.

Cream Cheese Apple Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2006
This is a decent basic recipe. It leaves much to be desired though in flavor. I made the recipe to a tee, actually it makes more then 12, more like 16 large muffins. I suggest using self rising omitting the baking powder which is overwhelming in the taste, not a good thing. Also I believe it needs more sugar, and maybe a little cinnamon, or something else. It's just to blah, not terrible, which is why I gave it a 3, but definatly not great. Pouch BC muffin mixes are a 5 in flavor comparison.

Grandma VanDoren's White Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2006
This is the easiest and best bread I have ever made. The taste is perfect, ingrediants are perfect!! It comes out so fluffy, not dense, the crust is goregous...I will make this over and over again. My husband and four kids loved eating the 1st loaf this morning.
