My favorite cuisines to cook are Mexican and Persian, although there is another side of me that is an American purist. I use fresh and/or organic ingredients whenever possible! Farmer's markets are one of my favorite food resources, as well as natural foods stores...
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love to cook for my family and friends - especially for holidays such as Thanksgiving. I try to cook dinner at least 4-5 times a week at home, if time allows.
My cooking triumphs
I'm proud to say I make most foods from scratch. If a recipes calls for salsa, I will first roast all of my vegetables and make the salsa from scratch for the recipe. Same goes for sauces and broths. There is just so much more flavor and nurturing involved...it's theraputic for me.
My cooking tragedies
I can't say how many times I have burnt basmati rice - not proud moments for me! This usually happens in a time crunch when I'm trying to get the tadik to form at a faster rate on a higher heat. Oops!
