Corned Beef and Cabbage II

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2015
It was excellent. It was the first time I ever made Corned Beef and Cabbage and I will definitely use this recipe again! No changes here, done exactly to the recipe!

Salisbury Steak with Mushrooms

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2015
My family loved this! Followed directions exactly, with the exception of making 6 patties out of 1lb of meat instead of 4. That makes each patty a little less than three ounces which was fine for my kids. My husband at 1 and a 1/2 and was satisfied. I didn't eat any because I am on a special diet but they all ate it, including my three children who are 7, 10, and 14. The only thing I would say is what another reviewer said-I would saute the mushrooms first before adding them raw. I will definitely be making this again and hopefully will be able to eat it also!

Slow Cooker Beef Stew I

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2015
It was good but I felt it came out bland as written and so did my husband. We never salt our food after cooking but we had to with this recipe. I used a half bag of frozen mixed vegetables so maybe that diluted it somewhat...it was also kind of watery to me-more like a soup so I thickened it with 1/4 cup cornstarch. A decent basic recipe.

The Best Chicken Fried Steak

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2015
I made this exactly how the recipe was written. There was NO WAY enough salt. It was very very bland. The breading was excellent but had almost no flavor at all. Very disappointed. The family liked it and so did I but I would have to work on the seasoning before serving it again. Also, the gravy was grainy and awful. I wouldn't make the gravy using pan drippings and just oil again. It was kind of gross to me, not smooth at all.

Debdoozie's Blue Ribbon Chili

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2015
It was a pretty good basic recipe, but didn't taste enough like chili in my opinion. I added 2 tsp. of cumin and 2 cloves fresh crushed garlic instead of powdered garlic. My husband loved it. I also added a finely chopped green jalapeno pepper and some diced regular green pepper to give it more flavor. Served over white rice with cornbread on the side. It was a hit!

I omitted the cream of tartar and they were perfect. Not sure why that is even an ingredient because they were perfect and tender without it!

It was just ok. It needed more salt. It was bland in these proportions, in my opinion.

Fluffy French Toast

I made it exactly as the recipe stated but felt it needed a bit more sugar and salt as well as cinnamon for flavor. I upped these on my second batch and it was perfect! Doubled them all.

Slow Cooker Teriyaki Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2014
It was excellent. I would have given it 5 stars but the sauce was still so watery after being in the slow cooker for many hours. I had to add a couple of tablespoons of cornstarch (mixed with a little cold water first of course) and boil for another 30 minutes or so before it would thicken. Delicious taste!

Extreme Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2014
Followed recipe exactly. Best chocolate cake EVER! I was concerned when I saw the soupy mess after adding the boiling water but don't be. It was PERFECT. Yes I generously greased and floured the non-stick pans I used and it took the entire 35 minutes to cook. Came out of pans perfectly and no mess. The icing was also incredible.

Pineapple Grilled Pork Chops

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2013
Made this recipe tonight, without having marinated the pork chops very long at all. It was absolutely delicious and still had plenty of flavor. My husband and kids all devoured it! I didn't change anything. Very juicy. I used bone-in pork chops, not boneless. They were fairly thin, about 1/2" or a little more.
