Classic Bran Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2008
OOOOHHH Excellent. I used All Bran cereal with clusters and dried strawberries already in the box of cereal, just for a new kick. They turned out perfect. But you have to make a double batch to share with friends and coworkers as they go fast. No one knew they were eating bran muffins.

Easy Beer Bread Mix

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2007
This bread smelled wonderful baking--is easy to mix up--and tastes heavenly. I didn't have Italian seasoning so used fresh dried herbs to make my own. Took some to work and they loved it. It also is great toasted with garlic cloves run over the top with pasta the next night, if there is any left. I will make again.

Parmesan Noodles

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2007
I,m only giving this 3 stars as I think it tasted rather bland -- just as it's called--noodles and parmesan. I would probably never make again.

Cheddar Beef Enchiladas

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2007
Wonderful. So easy to make . My husband and I really liked them. I used brown rice and doubled the sauce and put a thin layer in the bottom of pan before putting in the filled tortillas, poured the rest on top and used the extra sauce in the bottom of the pan for dipping each bite into. Don't over stuff your tortillas as they will end up kinda dry. I did on a couple and it tasted better with the correct amount in them. I also added extra cheese on top. Will make again. I like that the leftover can be frozen.

Buttermilk Syrup

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2007
Absolutely the best syrup. Does not taste like buttermilk. Very easy to make and is pretty. Come out a rich caramel color and has a light caramel flavor and is creamy. Not to sweet. I used a 3 quart saucepan and kept wisking to control some of the foam. I did have to turn heat down a bit. Everyone loved this. I probably will not buy syrup again.

Aunt Edith's Baked Pancake

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2007
Beautiful!! It came out exactly as the picture. Reminds me of swedish pancakes. One was enough for my husband and I. This is not the "heavy sink in your stomach wish i wouldn't of eaten that" kind of pancake. Yet filling. I made "buttermilk syrup" recipe from this site and that also was yummy. Served with bacon and fruit. Very easy to put together--5 ings--stir--watch it closely as it does foam up. I kept wisking and had to turn heat down a bit, I used a 3 quart pan and it was just right. I'll make this again and again.

Chocolate Mayo Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2007
This cake is so moist and a very yummy chocolate taste. My mom used to make this when i was a kid. I loved it then and i love it now. I made it with coffee instead of water as another reviewer suggested. Made mine in a 9 by 12 pan. I used the "whipping cream cream cheese frosting" in this site, also as another reviewer suggested and this is the best frosting, the frosting is light and goes well with this cake. Going to make another cake this afternoon.

Warm Apple Buttermilk Custard Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2007
Very different pie. Also quite good. Had two apples to use up in frig and this hit the spot. The pie is nothing like i've had before. We all liked it. The apples really add to the buttermilk custard filling and the topping gave it a slight butterscotch flavor. I thought the topping would burn as it's in the oven for 1 hour but it came out perfect. Remember to let it cool before cutting as recipe suggests. Will make again.

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2007
Sunday is "clean out the frig day" and it's sleeting and snowing here-burr cold outside! I had lots of fresh carrots and broccoli to use up. Made this soup with just a few changes in the vegs and cooked in the crock pot all day, it was wonderful! Had my brother for dinner and he loved it my hubby had 3 bowls. Also served hot crusty rolls with it. Will make this again soon. This recipe has lots of possibilites with the vegs.

Doughnut Bread Pudding

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2007
Ok so I had some left over raised doughnuts and decided to try this. I didn't have any evaporated milk so i used 1 160z can of thi coconut milk and the rest half and half. It came out beautiful. Has a taste of douhgnuts but a bit like bread pudding also. As others have said this is not the usual bread pudding but then this is not hte usual recipe for bread pudding. I would make it again, maybe trying different kinds of douhgnuts and rolls. A fun recipe to play with.

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2006
These wre good-i left out the pickle relish as i thought it would taste to much like egg salad then. I did like the touch of horseradish-i used creamy horseradish. Made two dozen and they were gone all in one day but i served 6 people. They all had second and thirds.

Chuck's Favorite Mac and Cheese

I don't know how to say this is the best stuff-but to say "this is the best stuff". It would be good with or without the crumb topping. Sooo creamy. I will never make another recipe for mac and cheese but this one.

Amazing recipe! I have made this twice. Once following recipe exactly for the soup and again tonight. This time i left out the water and added a can of zucchini in tomato sauce and fresh rooms and served it over pasta. Both ways it is wonderful. There is alot you can do with this recipe. We truely enjoyed it. Hubby even asked to take leftovers in his luch for next day. Cut recipe in half for 2 as it makes alot.

Cornbread Salad I

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2006
I took this to a potluck and every woman there and two men asked for the recipe! It was wonderful I used 1 can pinto beans and 1 can black beans and dropped the corn to 1 can. This recipe can be changed in many ways to suit tastes of the family. This was unique no one at the gathering had ever had this before. It is not dry as you might think with the cornbread and at it's very best if made the day before. I'll make this alot now.
