Paul's Pumpkin Bars

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2003
Although, like others said, they're not quite "bars", it was more like cake, but a very delicious one I might add. My boyfriend liked it alot & kept calling it my "pumpkin cake" instead of my pumpkin bars. Did add 1 tsp nutmeg.I used the recipe cream cheese frosting II from this site.

Basic Cream Cheese Frosting

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2004
I loved this cream cheese frosting! Some might say its to0 sweet, but isn't that what frosting is? I noticed some crm cheese frostings use less confc.sugar, but with those I notice the tartness of the cheese too much and the frosting seems to be too thin somehow.

Tiny Chicken Turnovers

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2004
I found the pastry a bit hard to work with, too sticky & I followed the instructions to the "T". The flavor of it was good though, next time I will cut the butter down too. I also used this recipe as a base recipe to mini pot pies. I doubled the recipe, added a can of Campbell's Cream of Chicken with Herbs soup, cooked diced potatoes, and bag of frozen veggies & diced the chicken. Awesome "pot pie pockets".

Chewy Granola Bars

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2004
Well, I didn't taste any since I'm one of those following the low carb thing. Anyway, everyone at work loved them & they smelled wonderful. I too added the 1c.butter/1c.honey...wanted to make sure they stayed soft..and they did! For the 2c.choc chips, I did 1c.choc.chips, 1/2c.sunflower seeds, 1/2 raisens! Combinations are endless, thanks!

Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2004
Well, i actually used this as a base recipe & i ended up tweaking it. I doubled the recipe & added 2-3oz.cream cheese, salt, and pepper. Added garlic powder instead of crushed & omitted the parsley, cuz i didn't have any. Came out superb!!!...just not good for reheating!

Chocolate Eclair Dessert

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2004
One of the most easiest & delicious desserts I have ever made & tried! My whole family loved it! Its great because others can't believe it is such a simple-to-do dessert! I did microwave the frosting, and I don't recommend using all of the frosting either. Just a thin layer on top does it! (& thats even with me loving choc.frosting!)

Caramel Filled Chocolate Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2004
I really had high hopes for this recipe & couldn't wait to try it, but it just didn't work out like expected. I used the rolo's for the center, don't get me wrong...any kind of cookie is great, but like the previous review said "it was alot of work, but not delicious enough to make them again"

Chicken Supreme III

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2004
If I could give it more stars, I would. This dish is delish! The only changes I made, which aren't major are : I added 1/2 a bag of frozen crinkle cut carrot rounds to the chkn/onion mixture, and i used Cream of Chicken & Herb soup, instead of the plain Crm of Chkn soup, I also did not use the whole cup of cheese, just sparingly sprinkled on top (even though I love cheese!) My boyfriend and I loved it, it will be one of the recipes I will definately use over and over again! Great comfort food for Fall! :)

Chicken and Dumplings III

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2006
Mmmmm! Very tasty! This is what I did to the recipe...1 can crm of celery, 1 can crm of chicken, for the 3 cups liquid...I used 2c.chkn broth(reduced sodium)& 1c.water, added 2c. froz.peas & carrots, and I used the bisquick biscuits, and last but not least...I used 4 cans of chicken. I thought I wouldn't really like the chkn from the can for this, but I was short on time and didn't have time to wait for the chicken to cook, cool, & chop! :) It actually was really good! I'd do it again! I've never made or let alone, eaten chkn & dumplings (or dumplin's, as my boyfriend insists it should be said, LOL!) But, I wanted to make it for my BF, who loves it and lo & behold, I realllly liked this!

Great chili! All I ended up adding extra, was a can of refried beans to make it a little thicker.

Slow Cooker Stuffing

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2006
I loved the flavor of this stuffing! So tasty, the way I would expect stuffing to taste. Only thing is...I think if you use all the broth, it is too soggy for my taste. I should of just slowly added it until I noticed it was to my liking or maybe I might just pop it in the oven too. But, I will definitely be using the actual recipe as my stuffing from now on...awesome flavor!!!

Mini Cheesecakes I

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2007
Well, I was looking for a cheesecake recipe that I could make low carb & still taste pretty good. I had tried other recipes & my boyfriend was not too satisfied with it. This recipe did the trick! :D I omitted the crust at the bottom & used Splenda instead of reg. sugar. I made 12 nice sized lil cakes in my mini muffin pan & after they cooled I used fresh sliced strawberries for the topping. DELISH!...and VERY satisfying for my low carb diet! My boyfriend said "Oh fiiiinally u found something good!" Thank you!

Beth's Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2007
Loved them & so did the BF. He's been begging me to make Oatmeal raisin cookies & thought I'd try this. Just didn't have the Crisco, so I used all butter. Great tasting cookie! (I ate wayyy too many!) :D

Jam Filled Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2007
I loved them! I thought for sure they'd be dry like most thumbprint cookies are made with just a basic shortbread. I am trying not to eat too many sweets, but these definitely made me give in! :) I used boysenberry jam, since thats all I had...but for the Xmas cookies I will make this year, I want to make it with Strawberry preserves. I used a baggie with the end snipped for filling the cookies, worked perfect!

Empanadas

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2007
The taste was 5 stars, but the recipe got a lil less only because I had a lil trouble with the dough...just sticky I guess, but I found it easier to work with as long as I kept the flour on hand to keep using as I rolled it out. I used apple pie filling & it came out great!

Easy Alfredo Sauce I

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2009
A lil too liquidy and a lil to bold of flavor for me...might try again just to see if I did something wrong. But, it isn't my first time making homemade alfredo sauce. I usually use a betty crocker recipe.
