Honey Lime Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2012
These are sooooo awesome!! I didn't fry them. I did what other have done- bake them. I placed 3 lbs of wings in a 13 by 9 pan. Tossed them with some olive oil and sprinkled with salt and pepper. Put in oven at 400 for 40 min. Double the sauce. Drain the fat from wings and pour sauce over top. Shuffle them around so all wings are covered :-) Put back in oven for another 10 minutes. After this, shuffle them around some more and turn up heat to 450 for last 5 minutes to gut some nice golden color on them. Take out and let them sit for 5 min to redistribute those wonderful juices and then dig in! They are sticky, messy but oh so worth it!

Bread Pudding II

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2011
This recipe is awesome! I made it tonight. Instead of raisins, I had three fresh peaches I wanted to use up. So, I diced them up and added them to the mix. I also substituted 1% milk for whole milk.

Cranberry Applesauce Muffins

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2008
I have not made these yet but they sound really good! I can't wait to make them. As for the previous reviewer, my reveiw of your comment is who cares if people spell definitely wrong?? I thought your comment was mean. And as I looked back on the reviews of this recipe, many people used the word definitely, but ONLY one person spelled it wrong. I do think you should chill out...life is short!

Nikki's Steak Saltimbocca

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2008
Everybody in the family liked this. Next time I make it though I will make each piece so that when wrapped up it only goes around once. Because my pieces ended up being wrapped up about 2 1/2 times. And so it took about half an hour in the oven. Also, I would use only one piece of prociutto per serving because I thought it was just alittle too salty . I used mozzerella instead but I think any cheese would be good. I agree with other reviewers that it has a unique taste but a very good one!

Green Bell Peppers stuffed with Tomato Lentil Couscous

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2008
These are delicious! I would like to suggest that to make the peppers a little less crunchy, I parboil the peppers first in boiling water to cover for 4 min. Instead of pasta sauce I used regular tomato sauce and/or a canned petite diced tomatoes.

Amazing Pork Tenderloin in the Slow Cooker

Reviewed: May 1, 2008
This was wonderful! Meat was done after 2 1/2 hrs. I only used 1/4 c. wine and the rest beef broth. I made gravy from the au jus that tasted delish over the meat and some mashed potatoes.

Oatmeal Raisin Cookies IX

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2007
These cookies are out of this world!! I did make one partial substitution...I don't know if it would have mattered much in altering the great taste and wonderfully chewy consistency but... instead of 1 cup oil, I used 1/2 cup oil and 1/2 cup butter. I will be making these again maybe as soon as I finish eating this batch! :)

Italian Green Bean Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2007
I have made this several times and my family loves it! I follow the recipe exactly but as others have said fresh tomatoes would probably taste great as a sub. for canned. I make sure we have some chewy bread to soak up the yummy juice. Also I have not tried it over pasta but that sounds like a good idea!

Super Easy Sloppy Joes

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2007
This recipe was just ok for me. I thought it was way too sweet. I won't make it again. I was disappointed because I love sloppy joe's. :(

Mid-Summer Italian Bread Salad

Cream of Sweet Potato Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2007
This was SOOO delicious! If I wasn't such a well mannered person I would have licked the bowl! My whole family liked it, too. I did make one alteration. I used 1% milk instead of heavy cream.

Easy Scalloped Potatoes

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2007
I should have read the reviews before making... I doubled the recipe and made many layers. This was not good. After 1/2 hr in the oven, the top was dry and down below I could see a big milky lake. At this point, the rest of the dinner was ready to go. So, to cook the scalloped potatoes faster, I dumped the whole thing in a skillet. Brought the milk to almost boiling. Then turned it down to low and covered for 15 minutes. Came out wonderfully cheesy, potatoes were tender. It was saved! Oh, also, I used grated cheddar cheese not slices.

Ground Beef Shepherd's Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2007
I thought this recipe was pretty good! I made some alterations though. Because the end result of meat mixture had nothing to hold it together, I added a can of tomato paste with a can of water. This made a little sauciness that I thought it needed. Then for the mashed potato topping, I omitted the egg, added warmed milk instead of water and added a handful of grated cheese to the mixture. The end result was a dish my whole family loved!

Pasta Siciliano

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2006
My family and I loved this. Although I did make some changes. I substituted 2 Tbsp. vinegar for lemon juice, grape tomatoes for sundried and omitted pine nuts because I thought they were fairly expensive at the store. I think the feta cheese makes the pasta dish way yummy! My youngest daughter doesn't like feta though, but I sprinkled some grated mozzerella on hers and she loved it. Chewy bread is a must for sopping up the evoo and vinegar!

Pork Chops with Scalloped Potatoes

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2006
This recipe turned out pretty good. But I did make some changes. I only used half an onion, thought that was plenty. I just sprinkled a pinch of thyme on each layer -also plenty...Instead of beef boullion and water, (allergic to MSG) I poured a cup of chicken broth over the top. 1/4 C. butter seemed like too much too. I dotted the layers with several dabs of Smart Balance (butter substitute). I was already to make the gravy after I took the casserole out of the oven, but after removing pork and potatoes to serving dish, the dripping were already thick enough to pour on the chops.

Basic Crepes

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2006
I made these this morning. I was looking forward to them...but was terribly disappointed! When adding the eggs to the flour, I had this gross, gluey glob. I quickly added the rest of the ingrediants and although better, too many little floury lumps. And I whipped that batter with a vengence!! I ended up throwing it out and starting over with a recipe I found in my good ole Betty crocker cookbook.I will try other crepe recipes on the site. But I don't recommend this one :-(

Ratatouille

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2006
This was pretty good. I would make it again. The only thing I was alittle disappointed about was that unlike what previous reviewers said, mine did not end up with much liquid on the bottom. When it came out of the oven, I mixed it with penne pasta. Served it with lots of parmigiana cheese and some ciabatta bread.

Outstanding Chicken Dinner

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2006
My family and I loved this recipe! The only change I made to it was instead of using all 1/2 and 1/2, I just put in a 1/2 a cup of it and 1 cup of 1% milk. It made a nice sauce...not too thick.
