Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2015
Delicious! You had me at 5 tablespoons of butter. I'd like to say that I made it as is, but I never really do that. I added a can of corn and extra celery (because I love celery). I also used chicken stock, instead of water and powered bouillon. Thick and tasty. I think the quality of the ham matters. I had frozen some of our easter spiral ham and it was extra smokey and glazed. yum yum yum

Simple Scones

Made this recipe as shown, but added a diced apple and a teaspoon of cinnamon. Wow. I won't bother trying another recipe. Ever. Fantastic. I didn't use a food processor but cut room temp butter into the dry ingredients with a pastry cutter. They were flakey and not at all dry.

Bifana

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2014
This was delicious! Made it as per the recipe but only had 3 cups of rhubarb, so added a big handful of dried cranberries. They added a nice flavour and a little punch of colour. I have leftover chutney and I'm excited about trying it with another dish - or maybe with cheese and crackers! Cooked pork to an internal temp of 150degrees. Took longer than 25 min. but meat was just a tiny bit pinkish and very juicy.

Super-Delicious Zuppa Toscana

Made this last night and it was delicious. Used kale and honey garlic sausage (weird I know, but it was all I had on hand) added basil, sage, parsley and a bay leaf. I'm excited to eat it for lunch today!!

Hot German Potato Salad III

This was great! Made some changes based in what I had on hand. Used both white and sweet potatoes, red wine vinegar and added a squirt of mustard to the dressing. I'll make this gain for sure!

Oatmeal Peanut Butter Cookies

Simply a great cookie. We added chopped leftover chocolate easter eggs, cooked up a small batch and froze the rest in small balls ... great to cook up for a quick easy bedtime snack.

Tomato Soup I

Very good recipe. As other reviewers suggested, I added some good balsamic vinegar, thyme and I used half & half instead of full cream. Yum.

This was really great! My husband is very finnicky and I didn't tell him about the cols until he had already agreed that it was delicious. I was afraid it wouldbe overly sweet, but it wasn't - and the gravy was..YUM!

Mushroom and Leek Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2006
This was really good, but I did make some changes. I was looking for something with a bit of an asian flavour, so I added about a tsp of sesame oil, some garlic powder and a tiny pinch of chinese 5 spice powder. It was really tasty. I also didn't have sherry but used dry white wine. I think next time I'll do the same and maybe add some little asian meatballs for an even heartier meal. Remember to wash the leeks really really well.

GA Peach Pound Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2006
I loved this recipe. My husband hates butter (what a wierdo!) and he found it a little rich, but to me that's perfect. I'll use this again - and maybe try it with other fruit in season. Thanks for the post!

Chicken Pot Pie VIII

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2006
This is a great pot pie recipe. I used leftover Easter turkey, sweet potatoes, peas, onions, mushrooms and rosemary - very good. I also put it in a casserole and used puff pastry over the top - quick and yummy. Thanks for the post!
