Oatmeal Whoopie Pies

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2007
Very Good! This is just my own little by accident tip. I made these on a hot day and the icing started to melt between the cookies so I put the cookies in the freezer. I wrapped each cookie in saran wrap and froze. So yummy, not too hard and the icing still soft. A yummy treat into a cool treat.

Mrs. Sigg's Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2004
Don't even try another recipe!! This one is just too good. Boyfriend ate the entire batch in less than 2 days and was glad when I didn't want the last two cookies left in the cookie jar. I did as the others mentioned and added another 1/2 c. of PB. This was a big help as just a 1/2 c. of PB would have not been enough. Also do as instructed and take out after 8 minutes. You may not think they are done, as I did, but the will soon finish cooking after being taken out of the oven. All I got to say is no other PB cookie recipes even comes close to this one. EXCELLENT!!!

Slow Cooker Sauerkraut and Sausage

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2008
I made this last night and instead of putting it in a crockpot I use a large stock pot on the stove. Still turned out good. I cooked it for 1 1/2 hours. I however did not use 1/4 c. of brown sugar..I use 1/8 c. It was just perfect for us. Next time I am going to drain the kraut and cut it into smaller pieces. I just got introduced to this concept at a local hot dog shoppe around here and it's just so good. It too has the sweet taste that this one has.

Monkey Bread I

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2007
5+++ I can't say enough about this. For Thanksgiving I was running short on time and I wanted to make homemade cinnamon rolls. So I got on this site and found this recipe. Ran to the store and got the biscuits and from there on easy as pie. Everyone faved about this and wants the recipe. (For christmas gifts I am typing this recipe up on fancy paper and putting it in a new bundt pan..so thanks for also making my gift giving easy..lol) Anyways the only thing I did do different was to only cut the biscuits in 1/2 instead of 4 pieces.

Granny Kat's Pumpkin Roll

the BEST!! Turns out great everytime. A tip I do use though is to use Parchment Paper..this will prevent the roll from cracking when rolling.

BBQ Chicken Pizza II

Awesome!! So easy and so good. Made 2 and they both quickly disappeared. Will certainly make again, used the recipe exactly as written. Used Sweet Baby Ray's Sweet and Spicy BBQ sauce for a nice, hot tang.

Amish Macaroni Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2008
The best, however I did cut back on the sugar (only 1/2 c) and it is a plenty. Tastes, as it chills longer, like macaroni salad you get out of the deli.

Stuffed Cabbage Rolls

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2008
Good basic recipe. I added 1 tsp. of red hot pepper flakes to the meat mixture and I wish I would have used 2 cans of soup. Not nearly the amount of sauce I would have liked.

Tuna Noodle Casserole II

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2008
I would rate it 5 after my additions. I added 12 oz. shredded cheese (a blend of monterey jack, colby and mild cheddar)instead of sliced cheese and used 1 c. of french fried onion rings on the top instead of potato chips. Will never buy boxed tuna helper again. Boyfriend could not keep fork out of it.

Stuffed Hot Peppers

These were good but not what I expected. I guess I'm just use to how I make stuffed hot pepper with regualar sausage and top with pasta sauce. A nice change though.

No-Fuss Pumpkin Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2008
Very good and extremely moist. Did not use frosting. I think just a dusting of powdered sugar is enough. (But I am not really into frosting) My favorite pumpkin cake recipe so far. May make into Pumpkin Bread the next time. Maybe for that use a drizzle of powdered sugar icing for a nice touch and presentation.

Seven Layer Taco Dip

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2008
Sooo good. Made for 4th of July party. The combined flavors remind me of a 7 layer burrito from Taco Bell. Served with "Scoops" tortilla chips. The only thing I did differently, as many others did too from the reviews, was to use guacamole (El Paso gucamole dip) instead of lettuce. Will certainly make again!

Nice dessert. Will be served for summer picnics for sure. I did do as others stated and added lemon juice. I added about 1 1/2 TBSP. to the pudding mixture. And I'm glad I did.

City Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2008
We made this last night and it was pretty good. Basically fried pork chops on a stick is what I think of it. Nobody's fault but my own but I didn't fry them til crispy on some sides of them so when they simmered for 1 hr. in the chicken broth they got kinda doughy. It is a nice change. Will make again for sure.

Basic Cheesecake

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2008
I've never had this turn out bad. Just a great basic cheesecake..just as the title suggests. Just don't overmix and I always turn off the oven and let the oven door stay wide open after baking time so hopefully no cracking will occur and 99.9999% of the time it doesn't.

Clone of a Cinnabon

Always turns out great, unless that is if I kill the yeast..lol. Anyways, I don't use a bread machine for I don't have one but I just start out the yeast in warm sugar water just as you would any other bread.

Alice Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2007
One of our new favorites. We don't pour the honey mustard over the chicken though. I just allow each person to have their own dipping bowl with the dressing in it to accommodate to each one's perference. Also have made it without the mushrooms and it's just as good.
