Kentucky Style Fried Green Tomatoes

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2006
THESE ARE THE BEST!!! Not as good as granddad used to make. I saw a chef on OnDemand make FGT's and it took me back to my childhood and granddads FGT's. I was in the market and low and behold there were about 7 or 8 green tomatoes mixed in with the red tomatoes on the vine...so I had to get them because fate put them there for me to find so I could re-live a small delicious part of my childhood (heeheehee). I tried this recipe because I didn't have cornmeal...and I realized you really don't need it. I also used bacon grease as others suggested...if you gon do it...you gotta do it right! :=)

Tater Tot Casserole IV

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2006
I learned how to make this casserole in home economics in high school (minus the pork sausage). It was good then but does nothing for me now. It wasn't totally awful...it was just ok...I won't be making it again. Sorry :(

Creamy Au Gratin Potatoes

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2006
We really loved this recipe! My fiance' never wants the boxed stuff again. I did make a few changes. I saw some reviewers complain about uncooked potatoes...easy fix. STEAM the potatoes first. I had new red potatoes, monterey jack, medium and sharp cheddar. I also added cayenne, salt and pepper IN the sauce. Layered already cooked (steamed) potatoes, onion, sauce, extra grated sharp cheese...and repeated until dish was full and topped with sharp cheese. Baked long enough to reduce sauce and brown top. It turned out GREAT. I will definitely make this again.

Cheesy Ranch New Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2006
My fiance thought this dish was really good. I steamed the potatoes as another reviewer suggested and I mixed the ranch, cheese and real bacon bits together with the potatoes. My fiance suggested cooking the potatoes longer next time. I didn't want the them to fall apart...but I will take that chance next time and I will slice them instead of cubing them and add green onion. I will also add more ranch dressing. I don't think I added enough(I didn't want to over do it). Overall this was a good recipe that I will make again.

Buffalo Shrimp

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2006
I've made this recipe quite a few times. I love it! I think it's hot but...but a little bland. I like to add more caynenne and some garlic salt (as the recipe has no salt). WOW!!! What a difference! I also don't use the sauce. I think it's perfect without it. My fiance loves it too! I like to make the shrimp and have it over a nice salad with honey mustard dressing...or even a nice vinaigrette. This is also good to use on chicken wings. This recipe is a keeper!

WOW!!! What a winner!!! I used butter instead of shortening. The smell is heavenly when slicing. This is a keeper!!! I love bananas and chocolate so this was pperfect for me. I did do as others said and cut the chocolate chips in half...that was more than enough. GREAT recipe!!!

Japanese Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2003
Last night I tried these again with a couple changes and they were even better than the first time. First I made the sauce (with about 2 tablespoons of cayanne) 24 hours in advance an let the chicken marinate overnight. I prepared them like the recipe says but let them bake for about 1 hour and 15 minutes. WOW what a difference! The cayanne balanced out the sweetness and the longer cooking time allowed the sauce to thicken and glaze over. This receipt is sooooo easy. All the ingredients are already in the cabinets! This is a keeper!
