Mozzarella Puffs

Made it for company last night. Everyone loved it - I read reviews first and cut the biscuits in half and added small piece of jalapeno peppers from a jar, and it worked really well with a little zing - think it would have been bland without.

Grilled Asparagus

Had company last night and it was raining hard, so i roasted them instead of grilling. Read reviews, and because I wanted to prep these along with other things I was making, I took the advice to marinate them til I was ready (about 3 hours), and added balsamic vinegar and garlic salt instead of regular - they were great and at 400 f they only took about 15 mins - the same time as my main halibut wellington.

Corn Fritters

I made these last night and followed the recipe exactly. I've made many other versions of these fritters including with creamed corn, and these were by far the best. I think it's the sifting of the dry ingredients. My husband, who is not shy about critiquing my cooking agrees with me.

White Bean Chicken Breast Chili

Love chef John's videos and his recipes. This is no exception, except I'm one of those people who do not like cilantro - I replace it with parsley. Also appreciate the white meat gesture.

Bourbon Sausage

I made this last night. Loved the flavour, but made a few changes based on other reviews. Less sugar, more cocktail sauce, and I ended up using more Southern Comfort than it called for because I made this early in the day, so kept adding more bourbon to thin it out. Also, couldn't find smokies or cocktail sausages, so I bought breakfast sausages and cut them in half - worked well, but my husband prefers the little guys.

Amazing Pork Tenderloin in the Slow Cooker

I put this in my slow cooker this am before I left for work at 7:30 am and we didn't eat dinner until 7:30 pm. I made some changes because of other reviews - I used a whole onion instead of onion soup mix and next time I would use only half. I did the rest just as the recipe said, and it turned out to be the most remarkable pulled pork - fork tender and great flavour. I added 2 tbsps corn starch mixed with water and poured the sauce into a pot, so I could bring it to a boil and thicken nicely. The gravy was amazing. My husband is not aj big fan of pork tenderloin and this he liked this a lot!

Breaded Pork Tenderlion

Just found this recipe and haven't tried it yet, but I want to know how thick to cut the tenderloin before I flatten them - I'm sure it's delicious because it's very like doing veal or chicken and that's excellent. I only gave it 4 stars because I haven't actually done it.

Chicken Livers Fandango

The only reason I made it 4 stars is because I changed it a bit. I made the whole thing in an electric frying pan. Didn't use the soup, and used a lot more chicken stock and wine and sherry, because I needed it to keep for dinner about an hour and it was getting too thick. It was really good and the basics were as written. Will definitely be making again. Mu husband and I love chicken livers and they're pretty inexpensive here because so many people don't like them. Yeaa for us

Stuffed Eggplant Parmesan Rolls

Made this for dinner last night. Liked it a lot, but the odd thing is the recipe has no parmesan in it. I added mozza before adding the pasta sauce and then sprinkled parmesan on top before baking. Next time I won't roll the eggplant, just layer it because there was a lot of the cheese stuffing left over and it tasted so good that I want to use all of it. Only gave it 4 stars because I changed it a bit.

Apple Pie Muffins

This is definitely a 5 star recipe. I made it this afternoon and my husband and I love it. I read reviews where people said it stuck, but mine didn't - I greased the muffin pan really well and also around the tops, and that did the trick. Also, I had apples, topping and some batter left over, so I greased a bowl and put the apple slices and batter together and topped with the brown sugar mix. Worked out perfectly. Will make again! April 10 2013. Other people have now made this recipe - they asked me for it and every last one of them loves it.

Apple Crisp I

I made this today with 5 large apples - was too many for the size of the dish - 4 would be perfect. Will make again because it tastes great, but next time, will mix the cinnamon in with the (brown instead of white) sugar and melted butter for the topping. The top was crisp where there was melted butter drizzled, but not where it wasn't. Thanks for a tasty recipe, Sande

Chicken Parmesan

I am totally confused - the video that goes with this recipe does not involve frying at any point, so I clicked on the recipe, and guess what? I've got frying happening - is there something I'm missing here? I really liked the idea of no frying. Going to add this to my recipe box and use the video to make it, not the recipe.
