Sarah's Rice Pilaf

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2015
This is delicious - my husband claims to dislike orzo, so I was careful he didn't see me add it in. He loved this dish!

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2015
Only reason I gave 4 stars is because I changed the recipe. OK I know people are going to be annoyed because I gave any stars and didn't follow the exact recipe. I fried 4 strips bacon and browned the celery, onions and carrots (I added carrots) til tender, then added the same amt of stock - didn't change any of the liquid amts - the recipe is great.

Focaccia di Recco

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2015
I love Chef John and almost all of his recipes that I've tried so far. His voice is NOT annoying, and the half sheet pan I have works fine.

Yummy Baked Chicken Thighs in Tangy Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2015
We loved it - didn't have a lot of time when I found this recipe so I baked them at 375 F for about 45 mns. They were perfectly done and so juicy - the sauce is amazing - only thing I changed was add a squirt of HP sauce because I don't have A-1. Adjusted the recipe for 3 for 2 thighs and it was perfect. Thank you for posting.

Lemon Pepper Green Beans

Made this for company last night, and it was delicious - made just over 1 lb for 4 people and there wasn't any left. Will definitely make again.

How to Make Homemade Pizza Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2014
I made this for my first ever home made pizza - so much better than the store bought that comes on the pizza I usually buy just to add stuff to. Thanks again, Chef John!

Beef Medallions with Caramelized Pan Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2014
Yes, beef tenderloin is the same thing as fillet of beef. Am definitely going to make this recipe as soon as I have a hood over my stove - smoke alarm goes off with high heat searing! (or when it's not so cold outside that I can BBQ them)

Ladybug's Poppy Seed Chicken Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2014
I only gave it 4 stars because I haven't tried it yet - just found it. This is for Nick. The soup in the recipe is chicken soup, not mushroom, and if you don't want to use canned soup, make a white sauce and add whatever. I'm definitely going to make this because I love chicken AND Ritz crackers!

Best Baked French Fries

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2014
These are amazing - made them last night, and I agree with other reviewers that you don't taste the sugar at all, and that they were the closest to actual french fries I've ever tried. And, of course, much healthier.

Pork Apple Burgers

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2014
We love these burgers! Followed the recipe exactly except I only had a lb of ground pork, so I halved the ingredients except for using a whole egg. Left them in the fridge over night, and they stayed together perfectly. Didn't have to add bread crumbs or anything else. Will make again and often.

King Ranch Chicken Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2014
Loved this, and so did my husband. Ate it 2 nights running because there are just 2 of us. Froze the rest for later. Made a couple changes just because it was what I had. Added a pkg of quesadilla spices to use it up, and, of course, more cheese. That was it - delicious!

Apple Snack Squares

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2014
Delicious - Had to make a couple changes, though. Only added 1 cup sugar and pecans instead. Added fresh ground nutmeg, and used chocolate chips instead, because that's what I had. Will definitely make again.

This is the best lasagna I've ever made taste wise and texture wise. It freezes beautifully as well. Thanks Chef John!

Balsamic Roasted Pork Loin

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2014
The reason I'm giving it 4 stars is because I changed a few things. Added 2 fresh garlic cloves grated, and a scoop of grainy mustard. Marinated overbite in the fridge and it was delicious - very tender and flavourful.

Grandma's Corn Pudding

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2013
Made this as a side for family Christmas dinner this year, and it was very good. I followed some of the reviews and added vanilla and nutmeg to the mix and added the corn starch to the milk before adding to the egg mix. Used the flat glass baking dish as suggested and it worked perfectly. Found out it is even better served with Maple syrup.

Baked Dijon Salmon

Very good - topping was delicious, and so was the mustard sauce. Only used 2 Tbsps mustard, but everything else the same. The salmon was moist and tasty.

Loved this, and so did my husband. Made it almost exactly as the recipe stated, except different vegs, because of what I had on hand.

Onion Roasted Sweet Potatoes

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2013
Made it for another side last night for family Thanksgiving (Canadian) and they all loved it - nice change from the casserole I usually make. Added 1 quartered onion and a few strips of red bell pepper for colour and extra flavour. Had no trouble with anything burning because I had it in the oven on the top shelf above the turkey, so it was really long and slow, just stirred it all up once in a while.

French Onion Green Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2013
Made it for my family today for Thanksgiving (Canadian) and everyone loved it, including my husband who informed me before that he didn't like green bean casseroles, and why was I trying something new when company is coming? He loved it!! Followed the recipe exactly (wow, that gruyere is expensive, but worth it) Love Chef John - Thank you.
