Although I am cooking- challenged, & my family can attest to that, I LOVE to cook & bake
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake above all Growing up, my mom had it made ( or so I thought). My sister prepared the meal & I made the dessert. My mom sat down ( or so I thought- eventually I realized as a mom---once a mom=never sitting down again.) once I became a MOM myself, I am amazed how much my own mom has learned. I always thought she knew nothing
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas Eve was always very special. My mom would decorate , bake, and cook for days. She would have everything : turkey. Roast beef. Ham. Shrimp. Lasagna Potato, tossed, macaroni-shrimp salads chips, dips all the condiments, bling( pickles, olives, etc.). The desserts were enough to make the table tremble. So many delicious calories. ( my favorite dessert was 2 Alka Seltzer & a glass of water. Ahhhhh. Those memories
My cooking triumphs
I finally impressed my then 17 year old son. I made Chicken Kiev from scratch ! Served red skinned smashed potatoes with asparagus & hollandaise sauce. He keeps reminding me that that was his best meal--- it must have been because that was 11 years ago. !
My cooking tragedies
Sweet-potato Cassarole. Those who know me---enough said. Those who don't-- they're better off !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
