Creamy Potato and Leek Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2003
Excellent easy soup. Like some of the other reviews, I added salt, fresh ground pepper, and cayenne pepper.I also used milk instead of cream, and mashed some of the potatoes. I think I will try adding celery next time. My husband and I loved this soup. Thanks for a great recipe!

Confetti Bean Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2004
Loved this after a few changes. Instead of canned tomatoes, I used fresh plum tomatoes, diced, & I added a can of black beans. It got rave reviews at a recent party. I think I'll try a balsamic dressing next time. This is an excellent recipe, & it makes lots!

I used freshly squeezed orange juice, mixed alittle cornstarch into the sauce after the chicken was cooked to thicken it up, & served it with Jasmine rice, & steamed veggies. Huge hit! A very easy & extremely tasty recipe. Thank you!

Ian's Potato-Vegetable Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2004
Great soup & very easy to make! It cooks up in no time flat, so it's a lovely mid-week no-brainer. I cooked the potatoes, carrots & onions at the same time, then added the celery. I also added alittle crushed rosemary & some minced garlic. Thanks Ian for a really tasty soup!

The Perfect Basic Burger

Reviewed: May 23, 2010
Are you kidding me? A perfect BASIC burger, just like Lindsay says. It leaves it wide open to add whatever your heart's content calls for. Far easier to add to a recipe than take away. I think some people just don't understand basic. Thanks Lindsay, a real keeper, something I can dress up if I want, or enjoy as is, with my favourite condiments & some cheese.

Slow Cooker Pineapple Pork Roast

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2009
This was so easy, I couldn't believe it would turn out so great. I followed some of the other suggestions, ie; I sliced a sweet onion & put it in first, used cranberry sauce instead of dried cranberries, & sprinkled the pork with thyme, rosmary & fresh ground pepper. Easy enough for during the week, fancy enough for comapany.

I cut way back on the butter, used a hot/sweet mustard (double the amount called for) added lots of minced garlic, fresh ground pepper, & used boneless chicken thighs. The house smelled wonderful while it was cooking! Served over rice with steamed broccoli, it was a great dinner!
