Paula and Matt - Bayshore Marathon
About this Cook
I go through cooking phases. I went through a phase for a few years when I cooked almost nothing. Now I'm getting more interested in cooking again. My other big loves are distance running (think marathons), mountain biking, hiking, camping, the outdoors, fitness and cats!
My favorite things to cook
Whatever is easy. Must not have tomatoes in it. Must not combine sweet and savory. Meat + sweet = YUCK! Honey glaze does not belong on ham. Fruits do not belong in salads or on pizza, etc... Also must not have ingredients that I must buy in bulk but only need a pinch of. Aside from those few rules, I'm open to most anything!
My favorite family cooking traditions
There are a few Assyrian dishes I really enjoy including Chiptee, Jarjek and Hadesah. Can't find the main ingredient for Hardesah, so I can't make it anymore.
My cooking triumphs
Cheesecake specialty!!
My cooking tragedies
I've put these from my mind. I'm good at forgetting. :-)

Spiced Yogurt Pound Cake
Excellent cake. I was looking for recipes that use plain yogurt since I had 1 1/2 lbs left-over! I've very glad I found this recipe. I will make it over and over again. The confectioners sugar as a topping was just the perfect complement to moist, delicious breakfast treat.

Creamy Rice Pudding
Wow! Very good and very simple to make. I don't like raisins much so I didn't add them. I also included a pinch or two of cinnamon and nutmeg. It was splendid.

Chicken Cordon Bleu II
Very good! The sauce is the clincher. It is simple to make and tastes wonderful. It even stands up to substitutions such as dilute white wine vinegar in place of wine and olive oil in place of butter.
