My Husband has lost 25 pounds and we haven't gained any weight since I cut certain things out of our food.Yeast had to go. It took me over a year of trial and error to make bread without yeast.I have succeeded. As I went thru my cabinets and freezer to eliminate the yeast I could'nt believe it was in everything. Ramen noodles, crackers, mac & cheese, pretzels you name it.Even my favorite frozen fish sticks were made with it.Making my own biscuits, pita bread, pizza dough, homemade cinnamon rolls without yeast became an obsession. I am now a size 1.

Congrats on you and your husband's weight loss. I wonder if yeast is partly to blame for our difficulty losing weight. I may have to try to remove the yeast from our diets and see if it helps. Thanks for your insight. Wendy

Easier said then done Wendy Because it's in most of the food we like and there isn't alot of recipes that work. The pita bread recipe I made is my go-to for bread.3 things that activate baking powder are, white distilled vinegar, lemon juice, buttermilk. You can make buttermilk by putting lemon juice in the milk.I don't use baking soda.

Today I'm making a yeast free spelt bread, I found on this site. I've added and changed quite a few things but the concept is the same. Here the recipe I used. I'm also going to make my muffins which are yeast free too, they are quite good. Glad you're doing great... A size 1? Wow!

I did the same thing several yrs ago. I went from size 10 to a size 4. I haven't been diligent enough to follow no yeast and processed sugar so I'm gaining weight, again. If anyone is interested in learning about the effects of yeast (or candida) on our bodies just google Know The Cause by Doug Kaufmann. I look forward to following your blog to see what you are learning, too.

Hi, I have just startes to cut out yeast and was wondering which pita bread recipe you use? I tried this recipe for soda bread the other day, which I quite like:
I'm also wondering why you don't use baking soda? I was under the impression that it's in baking powder anyway, so why don't you use it on it's own?
