Ganache II

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2010
I absolutely love this recipe! I couldn't find bittersweet chocolate, so I bought semisweet instead, and it came out fabulous. I used it to top my chocolate eclair dessert. Of course I had to use half the recipe, and there was still more than enough for the topping. I give it 5 stars.

Old Fashioned Onion Rings

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2011
I made these onion rings exactly as the recipe calls for... absolutely delicious! I did have plenty of flour mixture and bread crumbs leftover, so I simply sliced another onion and repeated the process with the remaining mix. I still have leftover mixture, so I may try breading something else with it :) Thank you for the wonderful recipe!

Sweet Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2011
The most absolute best dough recipe ever! I made it exactly as the recipe says. Soft, moist, & delicious. I have attempted many bread recipes (I always follow exactly the first time I make things), and have never been successful. I will continue to use this recipe for all my bread dough needs. Thank you so much Donna!

I made this for my future-in-laws last year. It was all gone within minutes! Thank you Ann for sharing this recipe.

Chef John's Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2012
I followed this recipe exactly, but I didn't care much for it. Nothing really stood out, and the mustard gave it a funky taste.

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2012
Delish! I haven't had meatloaf with brown sugar before, and I'm used to the ketchup being on top. I followed the recipe exactly, and I think it is a great recipe as-is. Thank you for sharing!

Classic Macaroni Salad

Reviewed: May 20, 2012
Sorry, I didn't have the last 4 ingredients (celery, bell pepper, carrot, or pimento), but based on the rest of the ingredients, this was delish! The sweet (sugar) and tangy (vinegar) complemented each other, very creamy and smooth. I would love to try it with the rest of the ingredients! Thanks Graden for this basic but delicious macaroni salad recipe! :)

Strawberry Shortcake

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2012
These were amazing! I followed directions exactly for the shortcake, and they came out great! I did, however, put the dough into ramekins for smaller (individual) portion sizes. I thought it would take less time in the oven because of their size, but they still took 20 minutes. At 15 mins, they (the larger ones) were still gooey in the center. The recipe made 2 large ramekins and 2 small ones. I only made enough strawberries for one serving (myself), I didnt measure the sugar but I eyeballed it to my liking, and I added a dab of vanilla, and used a potato masher to lightly squeeze the juices from the strawberries. It sat for the duration of the baking time, and all in all it was delicious!

Balsamic Strawberries

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2012
Delicious! I used brown sugar instead because I don't like or carry Splenda-type sugars. I scooped some ice cream, along with these strawberries, inside of a tortilla bowl -- marvelous!

Crunchy French Toast Sticks

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2012
I thought the ratio of egg to milk was outstanding! I have never been able to get it just right like that before! But like others, I added a teaspoon of vanilla, a pinch of cinnamon, and a pinch of nutmeg. I think it becomes too bland without some kind of flavoring. I didn't need to use that much corn flakes, but to be honest, I didn't even measure. I just poured some into a small bowl and crushed slightly with my hands. Delicious!

Grilled Peanut Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2012
I wasn't too thrilled with this recipe. I was going to follow this recipe exactly as it calls for, but when I saw for myself what reviewers were talking about the sauce thickness, I added more soy sauce and chicken broth to thin it out. I only had cubed chicken breast instead of breast halves, so that's what I used. All in all, this meal was just 'ok,' but not what I was looking for. I don't know, this may very well be an authentic Thai (or some other) dish, but it just wasn't for my taste buds.

Fluffy Peanut Butter Frosting

Heavenly delicious! Light and fluffy, as the recipe is named! I made the recipe exactly as is and it was perfect, no changes necessary. I frosted my white cake cupcakes with this for a wonderful combination.

Hollandaise Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2013
I don't know if I've ever eaten Hollandaise sauce before, but I know I've tried to make a few different recipes but haven't liked any of them ... until now. Tasted delicious with my asparagus tonight and was easy enough to make. Thank you Jeff!

Fluffy French Toast

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2013
Delicious! I think this is the first french toast recipe I saw that calls for flour, and it was an excellent call because it wasn't too runny. I will keep this recipe. Thank you Bonnie :)
